Event Update For 2015-04-28

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Hey, thanks to Tom N. and sharonjorgen for their comments yesterday. Today i'll probably be missing until either very late or tomorrow (unless i get a break somewhere). It would be nice if more people at least checked in once in a while. The personal stories in their own areas that don't make the news are IMPORTANT.

US North West submarine volcano 'Axial Seamount' likely just erupted, say stunned scientists

A new seafloor observatory operated by the University of Washington is providing unprecedented detail about the possible eruption of a submarine volcano off the Northwest coast.

Beginning Thursday, April 23 — the day after the workshop ended — the new sensors recorded 8,000 small earthquakes in a 24-hour period. The volcano's caldera, which had been swelling rapidly from an influx of magma, collapsed like a deflated balloon.

"A lot of magma moved, and that makes a lot of us think it had to erupt somewhere."

The only way to find out for sure is to visit the site with a research vessel, which he and his colleagues will do this summer.

Enjoy the remaining time whenever possible everyone.

  2. Damn, that's a lot of quakes for one day - that's almost one earthquake every 10 seconds! Gotta wonder how many OTHER volcanoes are erupting out in the oceans now, undetected, 20,000 feet beneath the surface, far from any observers.

  3. Whew! i hate marking papers (especially now - at the end of the world, what effing difference does it make?)!

  4. This morning the trash truck came to pick up the trash and it was a shiny bright red silver-chromed brand new beast of a truck. A garage was blocking my view of all but the front of it at first, so I wasn't sure it WAS a trash truck. It looked like the front of a show-car semi at a truck show or something. But I heard the sounds of a dumpster being unloaded and there is a dumpster where it was, and it was the right day for them to be picking up the trash, so I waited to see it pull all the way out, and yep, trash truck, but bigger and burlier than the previous iteration, and bright red instead of the previous green, with lots of shiny new chrome. They were kinda slow emptying the dumpster in it, but I think that's because they're getting used to it, the controls or whatever.

So in the last year: roads dug up and new sewer/water and gas lines installed; utility poles replaced with brand new ones with some new equipment on the poles; and now brand new kickass-looking trash trucks. It's been an upgrade-a-thon around here! Not complaining - I'm sure all those things are useful and purposeful, and at least it shows they're trying.
