Note: So one person coughed up blood, another felt sick then died, and others are feeling nauseous. This sounds very much like hydrogen sulfide and this area is on the west coast of the island, the side most likely to get hit by hydrogen sulfide blowing in off the ocean. Hundreds of fish bubbled up dead in the La Pastora River in May on the island too, as mentioned in the 2013-05-10 update. Dead birds were found near the shoreline at Marabella in Trinidad in April, as mentioned in the 2013-04-12 update. Many crayfish died in the Marianne River in Trinidad, as mentioned in the 2013-04-04 update. Late last year a man, 24, bit the cheek off a baby and chewed on her leg, also in Port-of-Spain, as mentioned in the 2012-12-10 update. There have been numerous mysterious deaths on the island, and many fires as well, too many to relate.
This story is similar to the event that happened on the island of Jamaica in February, where 'noxious fumes' sickened dozens and knocked some people unconscious, causing panic and evacuations, as mentioned in the 2013-02-28 update. But if it is ONLY this building that is being afflicted then it actually sounds even more like the woman who was killed by hydrogen sulfide in her home in Kansas City (Kansas), as mentioned in the 2013-07-04 update. In that case, it appears her sewer trap wasn't working properly, so the gas infiltrated her home via the sewers. Hydrogen sulfide is a heavier-than-air gas so it will blow ashore then settle to low-lying areas, flowing into sewer systems, basements, underground facilities, etc. Sewers are also a traditional source of hydrogen sulfide even in normal times. So if your sewer trap isn't working properly then you can be gassed to death if the gas gets pushed up into your home from the sewer system. If I were the people here in Trinidad, I wouldn't step into that building again until it's had like a week of ozone generators running non-stop and I'd definitely check the sewer trap too, make sure it's not damaged and that it has water in it.

Note: The man was dead inside the bathroom, the infant not dead and not in the bathroom, and a woman is okay. So looks like hydrogen sulfide got in via the water supply, and the man got poisoned that way, either by gas that evaporated out of the water, or by contaminated water. The baby wasn't in the bathroom, but babies are small, so the baby was affected (which means there may have been some gas, unless the baby had contact with the water too). The woman, much larger than an infant, didn't seem to feel any effect at all. It'd be handy to see the exact layout of that room and where people were, but they'll never provide that much detail...
