Event Update For 2020-10-22

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Big Oil warns of 'deep depression' under Biden energy plan
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/big-oil-warns-deep-depression-155201363.html

The oil and gas industry is mounting a vigorous counter-attack against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's plan to lead a transition away from fossil fuels if he defeats President Trump.

“Six-dollar gas is coming if Trump isn’t re-elected,” Continental Resources founder Harold Hamm told FOX Business on Friday after the former vice president outlined his approach to energy policy at Thursday night's debate in Nashville, Tenn.

“If Biden is elected and his plan on energy is adopted, he will send America into a deep depression and millions of jobs will be lost in Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Oklahoma, North Dakota and we will once again be beholden to foreign rogue regimes for our energy,” Hamm argued. [more]

The claim from the environmental campaign group follows media reports suggesting the government plans to release the water into the ocean.

Coronavirus not among 10 most common causes of death in September - ONS
    https://www.sott.net/article/443312-Coronavirus-not-among-10-most-common-causes-of-death-in-September-ONS

There were 2,703 excess deaths across England and Wales in September, official figures show - but coronavirus was not in the 10 leading causes of fatality.

The leading cause of death in September for both nations was dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

However, coronavirus was the underlying cause of death in 11.5% of all deaths in England and 9% of those in Wales from January to September this year.

As cases have surged again in the second wave, millions of people are facing tougher lockdown rules in the next 24 hours.

  3. The healthcare system isn't interested in anything other than Covid... not even lung cancer
    https://www.sott.net/article/443305-The-healthcare-system-isnt-interested-in-anything-other-than-Covid-not-even-lung-cancer

A new report has shown how people with lung cancer may have been misdiagnosed as coronavirus sufferers, which is already contributing to avoidable deaths. The obsession with Covid-19 is beginning to take its toll.

Harrowing as these figures are, none of them can come as any surprise. Many experts warned, and continue to warn, of exactly these consequences. Anyone with a brain in their head foresaw that strangling all health care in order to 'fight' one relatively mild respiratory disease would cause a lot of needless deaths. Anyone with a heart wondered why a Covid sufferer's life was apparently worth so much more than anyone else's. [more; yes, worth MUCH more to BILL GATES, et al]

Floods, drought are destroying crops and sparking food inflation
    https://www.sott.net/article/443313-Floods-drought-are-destroying-crops-and-sparking-food-inflation

Wild weather is wreaking havoc on crops around the world, sending their prices skyrocketing.

The Bloomberg Agriculture Spot Index, a gauge of nine crop prices, has risen 28% since late April to its highest level in more than four years. Wheat earlier this week was the most expensive since 2014.

The fallout from the pandemic means that the United Nations was already warning of a worst-case scenario in which about a tenth of the world's population would go hungry this year. Things could become more dire if grocery costs keep rising and even more people can't afford to eat.

Mangled supply chains and a flood of buying already sent food prices higher in many countries earlier this year as Covid-19 lockdowns disrupted global trade. [more]

'COVID social distancing and isolation': Youth suicides shoot up nearly 90% in Wisconsin's second largest county
    https://www.sott.net/article/443318-COVID-social-distancing-and-isolation-Youth-suicides-shoot-up-nearly-90-in-Wisconsins-second-largest-county

Suicides have increased by nearly 90% among youths in Wisconsin's second-largest county when compared to last year.

"When people are lonely, it's really hard to cope," Director of Emergency Services at Journey Mental Health Center, Hannah Flanagan, said. "The specificity about COVID social distancing and isolation that we've come across as contributing factors to the suicides are really new to us this year."

There have been 15 suicides among people under the age of 24 in Dane County as of mid-September. The county saw eight suicides among that age group in all of 2019, with the five-year average of suicides sitting at 10. [more]

    https://www.sott.net/article/443310-Scientists-worry-as-more-Americans-say-they-ll-refuse-COVID-19-vaccine

"The vaccine isn't something we need, even if it is safe," she says. "People want an easy solution and they think this is it. But it isn't."

She's not the only one with misgivings. A Pew Research poll from late September showed that about half of US adults (51 percent) wouldn't get a COVID-19 vaccine if it was available today — a big drop from the 72 percent who said they'd get one back in May.

Complicating things even more: This past week, two major drug manufacturers halted their vaccine trials because of safety concerns. [more]

  4. [hey Mike, here's SOTT's take on the "debate"]
Joe Biden told 32 lies in 96 minutes during the debate. Here they are
    https://www.sott.net/article/443319-Joe-Biden-told-32-lies-in-96-minutes-during-the-debate-Here-they-are

we're pretty sure that Biden committed a grave, perhaps fatal error toward the end when he declared war on oil and gas. As this morning's American Spectator column by yours truly notes, Biden's classic gaffe - defined as accidentally telling the truth - in which he admitted he would "transition" America away from oil almost assuredly will resonate in a bad way in a bunch of swing states (and maybe some which aren't). It seems hard to imagine he can win Pennsylvania or Ohio after having said that, it's certainly the end of any chance he had to make Texas competitive, and Trump might now have a shot at pulling out New Mexico and Colorado now that Biden has signaled the end of the economic future for the millions of Americans working in oil and gas. Biden campaign seeks to clarify position on fossil fuels after debate exchange

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his campaign are looking to clarify Biden’s comments saying he would have the country "transition from the oil industry" when asked by President Donald Trump if he would "close down the oil industry" during the final presidential debate Thursday night.

"It has to be replaced by renewable energy over time, over time. And I'd stop giving to the oil industry. I’d stop giving them federal subsidies," Biden said during the debate.

"Basically what he is saying is he is going to destroy the oil industry," Trump shot back. "Will you remember that Texas? Pennsylvania? Oklahoma? Ohio?" [more; game, set, match]

October snowstorm set to smash early-season records
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/october-snowstorm-set-smash-early-154844177.html

In conjunction with the record-challenging cold that is set to surge southward across the central and western United States, another potentially record-setting snowstorm is set to target millions of Americans in the coming days. This time, the dose of wintry precipitation will target areas much farther south, including some that typically don't pick up snow until much later in the season.

With this storm coming on the heels of recent winterlike weather that shattered a 115-year-old snowfall record in the Twin Cities, residents across the Plains and Upper Midwest may check their calendars twice to make sure it's still October.

AccuWeather meteorologists expect the next storm to be one of the most disruptive so far this season for the western and central United States over the coming days. It is projected to bring record-challenging cold and snow, howling winds and even the threat of severe thunderstorms to areas farther east. "I am the happiest when I am around elephants," says Dr Sarma. "The amount of time I have spent with elephants is more than the time I have spent with my family."

He says he has been able to understand the "language" of elephants. "In addition to feeding them, I communicate with them through signs," he says, adding that "now most of the elephants here recognise me". [more; there is a loved man]
