Event Update For 2018-09-17

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "An unknown odor forced the closure and evacuation of Weber High School in Pleasant View after several students became sick, officials said. The odor caused students in one classroom to become ill Monday morning, and the whole school was evacuated soon after, said Weber School District spokesperson Lane Findlay. Classes were canceled for the rest of the day."

Quote: ""When I got there, there were flames 8 or 9 feet high shooting out of a hole about 2 feet in diameter," said Tucker, chief of the Midway, Arkansas, Volunteer Fire Protection District. 'It burned that way for 30 to 45 minutes before it went out.' A closer look revealed a scorched rim and a hole about 3-1/2 feet deep that Tucker said made a sharp 45-degree turn at the bottom. 'I took a temperature reading of it and it showed 780 degrees inside the hole,' Tucker recalled. 'But what caused it? I have no idea. There are no gas lines nearby and there was no smell of natural gas.'"

Quote: "The fire crew responded to the report of flames shooting out of the ground around 4:15 a.m. Monday. Tucker said he didn't think the odd occurrence was caused by a meteor."

Note: That was probably a pocket of methane in the ground that self-ignited, like a small version of the giant methane explosions and craters occurring in Siberia...

  1. Interesting that the train I usually take @ 7:15 a.m. from a local station ran about an hour late today - causing a huge clusterfuck for its many passengers. People late for doctor appointments, kids late for school and college classes and my class had to be cancelled as a result. It's a beautiful day, do weather wasn't the problem. Someone likely didn't show up for work.

The 90 degree, fire-producing hole in the ground seems really strange. Wouldn't it just explode? What explains the bend?

  2. The bend was probably just the shape of the void in the ground. It wouldn't necessarily explode - like a blowtorch doesn't automatically explode. The gas that hit the air ignited and then the gas below ground fed the fire until the void ran out of gas. So it was like a natural self-igniting blowtorch in the ground. I bet we see more of those - one of those things that once you see it happen once, you're likely to see it again. It's probably ALREADY happened a number of times, out in the wilderness where nobody was around to see it. Maybe some of those wildfires that were blamed on arson - because they couldn't identify any 'natural cause' - were started this way.

Large mounds of manure are also typically stored at poultry farms. [more; you can't even imagine how toxic and disgusting the floodwaters are]

  6. North Carolina is really taking it on the chin. Now over half a million people have no DRINKING WATER there due to the gross, toxic contamination of the floodwater overwhelming the treatment plants! GEEZ! They have over 3 million dead chickens, almost 6000 dead hogs, and a SHIT TON of contamination to deal with - toxic coal ash, pig slurry, mud, fire-ant chains and more ON TOP OF impassable roads, dam breaks, and power outages. Holy SHIT, just SHOOT me, WTF?!!

600,000 customers warned of drinking water as North Carolina's flooded hog farms, waste lagoons under scrutiny for contamination
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/600000-customers-warned-of-drinking-water-as-north-carolinas-flooded-hog-farms-waste-lagoons-under-scrutiny-for-contamination/ar-BBNyHqr

The rain left two dozen hog farms seeping waste, killed 3.4 million chickens and turkeys, caused widespread mandates to boil drinking water and kept workers trying to prevent coal ash waste from leaking out of a landfill, according to the Washington Post.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality said Tuesday that it had received reports of floodwaters inundating or overtopping lagoons at 22 locations, leaving trails of floating excrement.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said Monday that 16 community water treatment facilities in North Carolina are unable to supply drinking water and that seven publicly owned sewage treatment works are non-operational due to the flooding.

Duke Energy reported Saturday that about 2,000 cubic yards of coal ash, the equivalent of about 180 dump trucks, spilled out of a pond at an inactive power plant. [more; why wasn't it disposed of before this?]

Coal ash is a byproduct of burning coal at power plants and contains toxic metals like mercury and arsenic. It can be toxic if it spreads to nearby bodies of water. [more]

Florence aftermath is 'a nightmare that just won't end'
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/florence-aftermath-is-a-nightmare-that-just-wont-end/ar-BBNxMx3

On Wednesday, thousands of evacuees were urged to stay away from their homes, rivers kept rising, and the threat of floods remained high in North and South Carolina. Many roads remained closed. [more]

"We've got a long road ahead in the days, in the months and even years ahead to make sure we build back."

Trump said, "We're ready to do whatever we have to do to make this perfect. We're going to take care of everybody."

South Carolina cotton farmers also were hit hard. Soaked ground could damage peanut crops, and hemp stems were reported blown over, the state said. [more]

[Trump's message is complete bullshit - watch as the insurance companies fuck people over, many don't even have flood insurance, and since we just had Harvey last year do the same thing to Houston - we better start thinking about this type of "aberrant" weather being the NEW NORMAL; properties are going to be abandoned, a LOT of the poorer people will lose everything, and the suicide rate will climb, not to mention disease and mold problems on top of everything else (like rebuilding and getting the infrastructure back)]

Self-Driving Cars Can Handle Neither Rain nor Sleet nor Snow

[wool HAIL, moz pypel cain't neether!]

As things stand today, the driverless car of the future can’t handle more than a dusting of snow.

It’s a known problem in the field, and vaguely embarrassing when the end result is supposed to be robots sophisticated enough to navigate the uncertainties of traffic and improve on lackluster human perception. In Boston, where NuTonomy has been road testing autonomous vehicles in cooperation with city planning officials, snow and seagulls have emerged as two of the biggest obstacles. “Snow not only alters the vehicle’s traction but also changes how the vehicle’s cameras and sensors perceive the street,” concluded a study by the World Economic Forum and the Boston Consulting Group.

For the local breed of unflappable seagulls—which can stop autonomous cars by simply standing on the street, unbothered by NuTonomy’s quiet electric cars—engineers programmed the machines to creep forward slightly to startle the birds. There’s not yet a solution for Boston snow. [more; but we have robot SEMIs out there?]

  10. Hey Mike, that's about as believable as any of the other "reasons" the FBI swooped in on a Blackhawk helicopter gunship, swarming the place (including the antennae) and EVACUATING everyone on the site and in the "town" including the post office. It doesn't make much sense (overkill to the max to catch a janitor with a laptop). I read that this morning and laughed "sure!" They just keep putting out excuse after excuse so people will stop asking. Meanwhile the observatory has re-opened.

Hey Fran, thanks for that link. I've been immersed in the collapse/extinction scene since the old NBL days and have already gone through the bargaining, depression, anger, etc. stages of response and just waiting for the day when it's my turn with no worries, cares or concerns. It's been a good run and I've lived a full-enough life. My wife has a harder time "letting go," and it wears on her. It's not something you can "learn" - you have to go through all the stages, bottom out and what's left is a kind of quiet acceptance. All the best to you, Mike, Jonny, Tom N.. LL and everyone else who are somewhere along the continuum on our own personal trajectories.
