Event Update For 2018-02-24

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

It's time to admit the US war in Afghanistan is total nonsense
    https://www.sott.net/article/378415-Its-time-to-admit-the-US-war-in-Afghanistan-is-total-nonsense

Whatever happened to the Donald Trump who tweeted in 2013, "Let's get out of Afghanistan ... we waste billions there. Nonsense!"

And whatever happened to the reality TV star who used to tell under-performers, "you're fired"?

Today, as commander in chief, President Trump is indefinitely extending the Afghan war's record as the longest in U.S. history. He's wasting $45 billion to wage it this year alone. And he's not even thinking of firing his huckster generals who claim that sending a few thousand more troops and stepping up the bombing will be a "game changer."

Much like the Vietnam War, every day's news of war from Afghanistan puts the lie to optimistic claims of a military solution. A recent BBC study concluded that Taliban forces are now active in 70 percent of the country, more than at any time since the end of 2001. Unofficial U.S. estimates of their strength have soared from about 20,000 in 2014 to at least 60,000 today. [more]

    Pyrrhic Victory
    http://ponziworld.blogspot.com/2018/02/pyrrhic-victory.html

Under Trump, the U.S. has wholesale abandoned any pretense of global authority. Whether or not that was due to Russian election interference, is completely irrelevant. The price to be paid for this final clown show is wholly unaffordable.

The lesson of the day for Jimmy Kunstler and the other geezers worried they'll be unduly stripped of their clown prince, is "pyrrhic victory": a victory that comes at a cost so great that it's tantamount to devastating loss. In reality, they got exactly what they deserve: Historically colossal humiliation.

This clown show won't end until even the dumbest Republicans admit they lost the election. With each day America's global reputation sinks lower and lower - for those still capable of being embarassed that is. And yet, among consumers, business, casino gamblers, and billionaires fake confidence remains at an all time high. [more; I guess he leans Democratic]
