Event Update For 2018-02-22

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  2. Yeah, not really seeing any way to prevent that. Either the semi tractor's gonna burn, or the tires and/or brakes are gonna ignite on the trailer, or the cars themselves will ignite while parked on the trailer. Shipping the cars in enclosed trailers that maintain positive air pressure and thus prevent outside air from getting inside would prevent the latter problem, but not the other two problems. Soooo...I guess we oughtta just get used to seeing truckloads of vehicles burning on the side of roads.

    1. Yesterday all throughout central Texas we had very dense fog for at least half of the day. Not to mention all the rain that has fallen this past week. I bet we're about to see an explosion of JJFH events. Pun intended.

I also bet that this year is going to be the one that gets even more clueless morons to sit up and take notice. The blue ocean event in the Arctic happens this summer. I see no way of that NOT occurring now. I think there will be massive crop failures here in the US and worldwide. Massive enough to really start hurting. But that's just one part of the equation. I think there will be much, much more. In other words I wouldn't be surprised if we see a record number of deaths worldwide related to climate disruption and of course....GAS GAS GAS!

And then 2019 will make 2018 look like the "good old days".

  3. Let's discuss the noxious gas clouds pluming from the ocean (for example). How does this work? Let's say a combination of H2S and CH4 bubble up to the surface from the shallow sea bed (whereas at depth, it usually dissolves into the water - making it deadly as we've seen). Does it disperse immediately or mix into the surrounding atmosphere and waft ashore with the sea breeze or does it stay concentrated for a while before becoming mixed? I doubt it makes a difference, since when one encounters even a little bit of it (like I think I did a bunch of years back in Sea Isle on the boardwalk where I collapsed with a paperback book in my hand - which had NEVER happened to me before) one usually just goes limp. In my case, I felt it coming (lightheaded) and sat on a park bench, then just fell to my side - and was revived minutes later by concerned passersby (who wanted to call the police or an ambulance, but I assured them I was okay - just dazed by incomprehension). It took about 2 or 3 years from then until I got an explanation HERE that made sense.

We notice that certain towns in England are JJFH hotspots. Here's a map showing that Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe (the three BIGGIES, mentioned most here) are mere 16 miles apart, along the River Humber. Scunthorpe is further inland from the same river (closer to the River Trent).

    https://www.distances-calculator.com/distances-for-hull-to-grimsby.htm

The apartment fire in CA was huge and frightening, reading through the article. It's amazing how fire "works" - climbs to the ceiling or roof before moving along horizontally (in this case it raced along the ATTIC after starting in a vacant room, climbing the walls and reaching there, then proceeding along the length of the H-shaped building).

Every year we see college kids dropping dead - but people don't seem to think it's unusual. Lots of others, all ages, joining in.

Let's see what else is going on.

  6. Liberation Sans Purpose?
    https://guymcpherson.com/2018/02/liberation-sans-purpose/#more-16144

I don’t mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that’s how it comes out.

    ~ Bill Hicks

Imagine receiving a terminal diagnosis at a young age. You’re simultaneously liberated and devastated. You’re suddenly able to live as you like, freed from the shackles of societal expectations. And you have no future. Your dreams are shattered. Why bother pursuing excellence and love if you have only weeks or months to live?

This is the predicament we face. It is particularly poignant for those who have been told, and falsely continue to believe, that their dreams will be fulfilled if they work hard and adhere to societal expectations.

Millennials come immediately to mind: They almost universally know they’ve been gaslighted at the level of the entire society, yet there is no chance for the payoff they’ve been promised. “Life sucks and then you die” has never had more meaning than for college students wracked with nightmarish debt and pockets full of dreams.

Finding one’s meaning in an ambivalent universe is one thing. After all, one’s authentic purpose must come from within and it might take years to discover. Finding one’s meaning on an indifferent planet rapidly running out of habitat for humans is the ultimate raw deal. It’s as if you’ve worked tirelessly to become the greatest sound engineer in the world immediately before every sentient organism, including you, loses its hearing.

The short version of my advice is contained within three whispered words: live here now. I realize the inherent difficulty of living fully in the current moment. And I know none of us were ever promised another day. Here and now are all we have and all we’ve ever had. And if I believed in miracles, I’d call each of us one, considering the odds against any one of us being here at all. [more]

  7. I'm not in the red area, but I'm in the purple area. Easy way to remember where I am is, that little nub that sticks out from the middle of the east side of Missouri and pokes into Illinois - like Missouri and Illinois are having sex - that's St. Louis. Heh.

As for the gases exiting the oceans - I think that must vary. Sometimes it might be a bubble of hydrogen sulfide, sometimes a bubble of methane, sometimes some of each, maybe with some carbon dioxide mixed in too (odorless, heavier-than-air, can suffocate you). The hydrogen sulfide will start dispersing, but then because it's a heavier than-than-air gas, it'll flow into low-lying areas and reconcentrate, and adsorb (stick) onto matter as it goes too.

The methane will start rising and dispersing, only to reconcentrate in the upper atmosphere. But then solar flares can 'punch' the atmosphere and push it back down toward the ground, and then the concentration could be wildly variable. If a glob is concentrated enough and pushed down to where there's a fair bit of oxygen then it may auto-ignite in the air and cause a flash-fire or explosion. If there's not that much then it still might ignite if a plane flies through it, or ignite the plane's engine.

If the gas(es) are concentrated enough when they exit the ocean and hit the oxygen-rich surface air then there may be an immediate explosion as the gas auto-ignites. There was one of those 'mysterious explosions' off the coast of North Carolina a coupla years ago-ish and shortly after that a huge number of dead fish washed ashore. I think that's what happened there - the ocean belched up a concentrated and sizeable bubble of gas, which auto-ignited and exploded and the explosion or the shock wave killed all those fish, or maybe the fish were suffocated as the gas was rising through the water column, or both. A boom followed by dead fish, in the same area, in that order, in a short period of time - couldn't be a coincidence.

  8. Thanks, Jonny.

Hey Mike (welcome back)! I completely agree with your assessment of next year (I predicted on a blog post @ NBL back in I think 2012 or 13, that 2019 would be the year "everybody would know how bad it is"), and think you're probably right about the blue ocean event in the Arctic being this summer.

When it was almost 80 here a few days back, I thought to myself - if it's this hot NOW, what's July or August going to look like?
If we get that blue ocean event, the global average temperature will jump to a state where most crops and animals cannot cope, causing crop failure and animal (and marine) death on a very wide level.

Yesterday I was in the supermarket and saw PEACHES, probably from the southern hemisphere or Latin America, but they looked good! Once the global climate changes (as it has) the SYSTEM has to play out - there's no "going back" to "fix" anything, because it's too intertwined with feedback loops.

So, we're just at the start of the exponential change that's coming. This will effect EVERYTHING from crop production to foreign policy (I see all out nuclear war on the horizon), from clean water availability to Marshall Law, from global financial collapse to essentially all jobs disappearing (there will be no "money" with which to pay anyone and whatever one is paid in won't buy anything). Once we hit that stage, you can have all the gold and silver, oil and farmland you like, but the economic system will be STUCK, so that it all becomes meaningless - especially when there's no food available due to crop losses from climate change effects.

(Weather Underground) – An unusually severe winter flood event is underway across the center of the U.S., from Texas to Michigan, thanks to heavy rains that fell during the week, fed by record to near-record atmospheric moisture for this time of year. The most significant flooding thus far has been in Southwest Michigan, Northwest Indiana, and Northeast Illinois, where the heavy rains fell on a snowpack that completely melted, releasing meltwater equivalent to another ½’ – 1” of rain. In East Lansing, Michigan, floodwaters rose on the campus of Michigan State University from the Red Cedar River, causing some classes to be moved on Friday to non-flooded areas. Three drowning deaths have been blamed on the flood thus far, one death each in Michigan, Oklahoma, and Illinois. […]
