Event Update For 2017-08-31

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Some of these car fires will disable your locks, seatbelts, doors and windows, so if you don't have something with which to cut seatbelts and break windows then that's it for you. And even if you DO have the tools necessary, you may have less than a minute before lack of oxygen knocks you unconscious, so you have to act fast...

Quote: "The morgue in the fourth-largest city in the U.S. is near capacity, prompting officials to ask for a refrigerated tractor-trailer to handle any overflow. The bodies — storm-related or not — have accumulated over the past several days as Harvey's floodwaters swallowed the city, essentially closing down all businesses, including funeral homes. Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences spokeswoman Tricia Bentley said Thursday the morgue has 175 bodies. Capacity is 200."

Quote: "The flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey has left thousands homeless in the greater Houston area but there also is rising concern about a biological lab in Galveston that houses deadly diseases, notes Joe Lauria."

Quote: "While mosquitoes aren't currently a concern for Persse, they will be in a major one very soon. 'In the short term I'm not too worried about the mosquitoes 'cause all this rain is gonna wash out all the breeding sites for the mosquitoes,' he said. 'But that'll be only about 10 to 14 days, and then we're gonna have an explosion of mosquitoes 'cause there's so much standing water which is all breeding sites.'"

    https://insideclimatenews.org/news/02092017/hurricane-harvey-texas-farms-climate-change-cotton-cattle-longhorns-ranches-photos

Bits of cotton—the state's biggest cash crop—are hanging in trees. Cattle have been standing in feet of water, fatally deep for an unknown number of calves. Permanently relocating people is the third rail of disaster planning, the aspect no one—especially politicians—wants to talk about. Local zoning and development decisions have encouraged millions of people to move into floodplains, and federal insurance policies and disaster aid have bailed them out time and again. But as these storms become increasingly costly, and climate change promises to make them more so, it becomes harder to avoid the bigger topic: There are places where people simply shouldn’t live anymore. What Sandy Can Teach Harvey About Recovery
    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/31/nyregion/sandy-harvey-hurricane-recovery-lessons.html

In the days following Hurricane Sandy, New York’s Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg sought above all not to duplicate the failures of Hurricane Katrina, seven years earlier — failures that had delivered so much corruption and waste. To that end, his administration brought in expensive consultants (because, really what better safeguard against excess?) and developed an application process for homeowners needing rebuilding help so onerous and overdetermined it was hardly viable. Famously, more than a year after the hurricane had rendered its miseries, not one of the 20,000 applicants who had sought help had seen any work begin. Hundreds of millions of dollars in federal aid sat idle. [more; yep, gross mismanagement of federal funds]

Doctors wade through Harvey floods to treat cancer patient
    http://www.msn.com/en-us/health/healthtrending/doctors-wade-through-harvey-floods-to-treat-cancer-patient/ar-AAr613A

It was Monday morning, time to infuse his patient's immune cells back into his body so they could kill the melanoma tumors threatening his life.

But the entrance to Dr. Adi Diab's apartment parking garage in Houston was blocked by water from Hurricane Harvey's floods and he couldn't get out that way. The timing of patient John Cormier's treatment was crucial — he was sitting in a hospital bed, his immune system deliberately destroyed by chemotherapy, and the replacement cells wouldn't last long in the lab.

So Dr. Diab put on his only boots and waded three miles in water to MD Anderson Cancer Center to hopefully get there in time to start the treatment.

"Some parts of the way were, like, one foot deep." He had to backtrack several times, making his usually short walk to the cancer center a lot longer than it would have been otherwise.
"I had to go through the park and there was a lot of water there," Diab said.

His boots got soaked and he was the last team member to arrive.

The average person does not know that mercury is the second most toxic element on the planet, nor do they know that it is an incredibly potent toxin even at small exposure levels. Once in the body, mercury has a high affinity for moving into the brain where it can become trapped for decades. Once in the brain, mercury causes a chronic inflammatory process in the tissue which has been connected to autism, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease) and many more adverse health consequences.
