Event Update For 2017-08-06

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2017-08-06 - Car goes up in flames and burns person to death shortly before 2:30 AM in driveway in Warren County (Virginia):

Quote: "The driver died from injuries sustained in the fire. Further investigation revealed the vehicle did not crash. The vehicle appeared to have become stuck in the driveway, Maiatico said. The heat from the catalytic converter and the vehicle’s exhaust system ignited some leaves or other debris near the vehicle and started the fire, Maiatico said."

Note: Obviously that person was either unconscious or already dead or else they'd have simply walked away from the fire...

2017-08-06 - Sea lice munch on boy's feet at beach in coastal Melbourne (Australia):

Note: These things are ancient and have survived every extinction event going back to - and including - the 'Great Dying', the Permian-Triassic extinction event, so I'd expect them to survive the current planetary extinction event too. There will be a few 'winners' and a huge number of 'losers' in regards to which species survive. These things are probably going to be winners. I expect to see more of these attacks as time goes on, as this seems like the kind of thing where if you see it once, you're going to see it again and again. They seem to like meat, so as all the OTHER life continues to die off in the oceans, they're going to have plenty of meat to devour, which will help them expand their populations...

2017-08-06 - High-rise Tiger Tower apartment building damaged by fire in coastal Dubai (UAE):

Quote: "A fire broke out Sunday at another high-rise tower in the Dubai Marina, just days after a blaze struck one of the world's tallest residential towers in the same neighborhood."

Quote: "The fire Sunday began on clothes left on a balcony on the tower's 53rd floor, said Capt. Amer Abdulwahab al-Qahtani of the Dubai Civil Defense. He said investigators believe either an improperly disposed cigarette or combustion caused by the late morning heat, which was a sunny 109 deg., ignited the blaze."

Note: So clothes ignited and started this fire, but they don't know why. I've mentioned the clothing igniting problem before in relation to the people who have burst into flame - it's not spontaneous human combustion (except in a few instances where it was the person's hair that burst into flame), but spontaneous clothing combustion. Also see the SUV that went up in flames on a highway in Dubai on this day...

Note: These are the 1401st, 1402nd, 1403rd, 1404th and 1405th tractors/tankers/semis to burn/explode in 2017...

2017-08-06 - SUV bursts into flame while parked in garage at home, fire spreads, home destroyed, in Morayfield (Australia):

Quote: "A Queensland family say Nissan needs to recall their troubled SUVs after their car spontaneously exploded into flames in their garage and destroyed their home in minutes."

Note: They can recall all the vehicles they want but since the problem is the atmosphere, the cars will continue bursting into flame. Any vehicle that contains a battery and electrified copper or which has any rust on it is going to burn. Also, any vehicle that uses friction for braking and which has either flammable tires or flammable brake pads will eventually burn too. Your vehicle might be safe if it's a simple motorless aluminum canoe, but it's hard to get around town in one of those...

  1. Geez, Jonny - these animal, insect, marine and bird attacks are getting crazy! Also, especially with the report from NJ this week, way more people seem to be dying due to proximity to water THIS summer as opposed to last year. It also appears that any kind of "renovation" is a fire risk anymore. College campuses should be 'interesting' this school year as well.

Potent, climate warming gases are being emitted into the atmosphere but are not being recorded in official inventories, a BBC investigation has found.

However, the Italian submission to the UN records just a tiny amount of the substance being emitted.

Levels of some emissions from India and China are so uncertain that experts say their records are plus or minus 100%.

  2. Smoke Blankets Western North America, 106 F Temps in Portland, Flash Northern Plains Drought Threatens U.S. Wheat Crop

Peru’s glaciers have made it a laboratory for adapting to global warming. It’s not going well.

After a day of bright sunshine, a chunk of ice the size of a dump truck broke off the glacier on Mount Pucaranra a few weeks ago. It plunged into the lake below and kicked up a wave nine feet high.

Victor Morales, a small, catlike man with a tattered ski cap who is the lake’s solitary watchman, scrambled up to a stone hut on the side of the mountain and got on the radio. The wave had damaged an emergency drainage system meant to reduce the volume of the lake. But to his great relief, the earthen dam holding back the water was intact.

“It wasn’t a big avalanche,” Morales said.

Lake Palcacocha is a mile long and 250 feet deep, and the effect of a large avalanche would be similar to dropping a bowling ball in a bathtub. Modeling scenarios predict a 100-foot wave so powerful it would blow out the dam. Three billion gallons of ice water would go roaring down the mountain toward the city of Huaraz, burying its 200,000 residents under an Andean tsunami of mud, trees, and boulders. [more]

Government Report Finds Drastic Impact of Climate Change on U.S.

    [but, but we're EXCEPTIONAL!]

The average temperature in the United States has risen rapidly and drastically since 1980, and recent decades have been the warmest of the past 1,500 years, according to a sweeping federal climate change report awaiting approval by the Trump administration.

The draft report by scientists from 13 federal agencies, which has not yet been made public, concludes that Americans are feeling the effects of climate change right now.

One government scientist who worked on the report, and who spoke to The Times on the condition of anonymity, said he and others were concerned that it would be suppressed. [more]

  3. Fossil fuel subsidies are a staggering $5 tn per year

[we're FUNDING the very thing that's KILLING US!]

A study was just published in the journal World Development that quantifies the amount of subsidies directed toward fossil fuels globally, and the results are shocking.

The subsidies were $4.9 tn in 2013 and they rose to $5.3 tn just two years later. According to the authors, these subsidies are important because first, they promote fossil fuel use which damages the environment. Second, these are fiscally costly. Third, the subsidies discourage investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy that compete with the subsidized fossil fuels. Finally, subsidies are very inefficient means to support low-income households.

  5. Thought I might post this on SOTT, but why bother?

[it's ALWAYS been a myth and the science gradually became more solidified as time passed (from the 1960's!)]

When U.S. President Lyndon Johnson in 1965 asked the members of his President’s Science Advisory Committee (PSAC) to report on the potential problems of environmental pollution, climate change was not on the national agenda. The polluting effects of detergents and municipal sewage, the chronic problems associated with urban air pollution, and risks associated with pesticides dominated public discourse about humanity’s impact on the environment. But in a 23-page appendix that today appears prescient, the Committee’s Environmental Pollution Panel laid out a stark scenario: emissions of carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels could rapidly reshape Earth’s climate (PSAC) 1965)
