Event Update For 2016-11-24

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2016-11-24 - Update on face-eater Austin Harrouff in coastal Jupiter (Florida) - no drugs in his system:

Quote: "FBI test results show no evidence that Austin Harrouff, the 19-year-old authorities say killed two people in their Martin County home and was found biting one of their faces, had either bath salts or flakka in his system at the time of the fatal attacks."

Quote: "Police said Harrouff made 'grunting and howling' noises as he bit off chunks of Stevens's face after stabbing the couple to death in their garage in Jupiter, Florida, in a crime that shocked the US."

Note: He stabbed a couple to death then bit the face off one near the coast in Florida. That event was mentioned in the 2016-08-15 update. He's the second face-eater in Florida, both were on the coast, and neither were on any kind of drugs. It's not drugs causing this...

2016-11-24 - Around 200 wildfires rage across Israel, 75,000 people evacuated from coastal Haifa, some fires blamed on arson:

Note: Some fires blamed on arson. Could be. Sounds plausible considering the area. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that methane and hydrogen sulfide have no effect. Israeli scientists detected hundreds of 'gas springs' bubbling methane from the sea floor off their coast, mentioned in the 2012-11-12 update. That problem has surely gotten worse since then. And in the Gaza Strip, on the coast, gas was filmed spewing from sandy ground earlier this year, mentioned in the 2016-02-08 update. That was likely methane from those seabed eruptions leaking up through the ground along the Gaza Strip. Israel is downwind of all that, so as the methane comes out of the sea and the ground, it blows over Israel and adsorbs onto matter, sort of like dowsing the area with invisible odorless gasoline. Then when fires break out - whether set by arson or not - they burn hotter and spread faster than they otherwise would...

    [pssst: don't tell SOTT]

One of the interesting facets of global warming has been how, over the past several decades, nighttime minimum temperatures have become warmer relative to daytime maximum temperatures. There are several scientific explanations for this. A recent study (published in the International Journal of Climatology in February 2016 by Richard Davy et al at the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research posits that the primary reason is that “night-time temperatures are inherently more sensitive to climate forcing”. See for more about this hypothesis and this for the full article. The focus of this blog post, however, is simply an attempt to correlate a list of the extremes for record maximum-minimum temperatures from available data.
