Event Update For 2015-07-09

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Note: Spark from what? Spark out of nowhere? Near something rusty or some electrified copper? Possibly the work of the Ghostly Match. Also, he was unloading a bunch of porous materials, and if they'd adsorbed any methane or hydrogen sulfide then moving that stuff around would help dislodge the gas molecules from whatever they had adsorbed onto - like shaking dust from a rug - and make it more likely that the Ghostly Match would strike...

Note: No, that's exactly wrong. Colder water holds MORE oxygen, not less. WARM water holds less oxygen. So that colder water should have HELPED the oxygen levels in the water there, which means that the odds are that it wasn't the oxygen levels that killed those fish, but something else entirely...

Mysterious giant hole in Siberia gradually filling up with water, expanding

The mysterious hole-turned-lake in Siberia's Yamal peninsula has expanded to 50 meters in depth, Russian scientists said. Researchers have been puzzled by its origins saying it was likely caused by gas explosions.

The giant sinkhole located not far from Gazprom's Bovanenkovo gas field in Russia's northern Yamal Peninsula has been expanding, scientists said as cited by Yamal region TV. The researchers also discovered additional smaller craters appearing around it, the media said. The whole area is within Russia's key strategic oil and gas region - the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The crater, discovered last year, has been gradually filling up with water and turning into a lake. Over the past winter and spring the water level in the crater has risen by 10 meters and it will continue to rise, scientists said, according to the government website of the Yamal-Nenetsky region. 5. Beach explodes in coastal Narragansett (Rhode Island), 1 injured:

Quote: "Another beachgoer, Stacey Beal, described a gas odor at the scene."

Sounds like that East Coast methane clathrate deposit is melting more rapidly now, and some of that gas will migrate up through the ground. And if they smellled 'gas odor' that means there was a little hydrogen sulfide in the mix too. Good thing there wasn't enough hydrogen sulfide in the mix to smell 'sweet' or they might have had a beach full of dead people.

Also in Narragansett the day prior, three fishing boats went up in flames. That'll be in the next update. So three boats go up in flames and the next day the beach explodes with a 'gas odor' mentioned.
