Event Update For 2013-02-03

Link to full hypothesis:
http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

Summary of Hypothesis:
The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

Predictions:

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Recent Events Matching Predictions:

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.

2013-02-03 - Box truck bursts into flame near building in Derby (Connecticut):
http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2013/02/04/news/valley/doc510f210512695626199432.txt

Quote: "The State Fire Marshal’s office has been called to assist with the investigation and to use a canine to check for accelerants, according to Lenart, because the Route 34 corridor has had a rash of recent brush fires too."

Note: Dried brush is an absorbent material (like hay, straw, paper, wood, clothing, cotton, etc), so it will absorb hydrogen sulfide and/or methane and eventually spontaneously combust. So you've got brush and vehicles breaking out in fire in that area. Any vacant homes or barns around there? If so, they'll be burning too, soon enough, if they aren't already...

2013-02-03 - Camper van bursts into flame on the A38 in Somerset (Britain):

2013-02-03 - Pickup truck bursts into flame in coastal Seattle (Washington):
http://westseattleblog.com/2013/02/truck-fire-under-investigation-in-junction-neighborhood

Quote: "...the resident who reported it said the truck’s wheel/tire appeared to be burning first, and then the front of the truck burst into flames, with an audible explosion."

Note: His tires had probably absorbed some hydrogen sulfide and/or methane. Then when the brakes were applied, the heat ignited the tires. Sometimes it's the brakes that burn up too (see the devastating bus accident for this same day for an example of that). And sometimes, as with this pickup, the fire starts with the wheels or brakes but the entire vehicle ends up on fire...

But then Texas is a state on the Gulf Coast, so it's apt to get hit by hydrogen sulfide and methane blowing ashore from the Gulf of Mexico AND by whatever makes it to Texas from the West Coast...

http://www.erietvnews.com/story/20952347/man-found-dead-at-downtown-erie-bus-stop

Note: Lake Erie has had a dead zone problem for years so not only will hydrogen sulfide from oceanic sources tend to accumulate there until blown onward by the winds, but it may very well itself be a source of hydrogen sulfide emissions, from its own anoxic dead zones...

E. More unusual vehicular accidents.

2013-02-03 - Tour bus swerves around, crashes with other vehicles, near coastal Los Angeles (California), 8 killed, dozens injured:
http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/02/04/16832626-survivors-say-bus-weaved-in-and-out-of-traffic-before-deadly-crash
http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/03/us/california-bus-crash/index.html

Quote: "CHP Officer Mario Lopez said the driver told investigators the bus suffered brake problems as it headed down the mountain."

Quote: "Surviving passengers aboard the bus said they heard noises they thought were the brakes and smelled something burning and then watched in horror as the bus weaved in and out of traffic for up to three minutes, trying to avoid cars..."

Quote: "California Department of Transportation spokeswoman Michelle Profant said the scene after the crash was shocking. 'It's really a mess up there with body parts,' Profant told The Associated Press."

Note: Like I've been saying for a while, tires are semi-absorbent, and they are absorbing hydrogen sulfide and/or methane. Then when brakes are applied, the brake friction generates more heat than it normally would. As a consequence, tires may burst into flame and/or explode, the brakes or brake lines may burn up, power steering lines may burn through, sometimes the entire vehicle catches fire and burns up. The bigger and heavier the vehicle, the more brake friction is required to slow, which means more heat, which means more chance of one or all of those problems manifesting. This was a big, heavy bus, lots of mass. They were going downhill, so the driver had to use the brakes. The brakes burned up and then there was no stopping, so he did his best to avoid other vehicles until they crashed...

  1. One of the obvious things that people overlook is Fire Extinguishers.
Ideally one should be kept in every room (& a large one in the basement especially nowadays) & 1 (ideally 2 in just case one doesn't work) in each car. I had a van burn up on me & I could have easily prevented that fire if I would have had an extinguisher in the vehicle.
Kitchen grease/oil fires are the most common so an extinguisher is mandatory there but most kitchens have none.

    1. Excellent point, and even though I actually do have fire extinguishers all around, I totally forgot to mention them! I guess it was just too obvious, but you're right that not everyone has enough, and many people I know don't have even one, anywhere. And they really aren't all that expensive or anything either, especially considering the potential cost if you end up needing one and there isn't one around.
