Event Update For 2020-07-14

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "Cutler said Thwaites Glacier is losing ice faster and faster, and that the process seems to be accelerating. 'The big question is how quickly it becomes unstable,' he said. 'It seems to be teetering at the edge.'"

Note: It will be catastrophic when Thwaites Glacier goes. We'd better hope atmospheric methane levels don't soar to a record high and hasten the process!

  2. Hello Jonny, everyone. It's cooled off around here some (81 the high today) and the humidity has dropped to reasonable.

HUGE changes coming via climate change, the shamdemic (and associated "decisions" by "our leaders" to wear masks when out - ruining people's health - and potentially locking down large parts of the country again, which will cause even more economic pain), natural disasters and upcoming weather trouble (see first article below). Besides Thwaites Glacier melting, the Arctic melt continuing, Greenland melt accelerating and the methane releases from permafrost and the Arctic seas, we're in for FOOD problems before long.

Warm temperatures from January-through-June pushed the year to date to second highest in the 141-year climate record, according to scientists at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information. Soon, You Will Need To Wear A Mask To Enter Virtually Every Major Retail Store In America
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/soon-you-will-need-to-wear-a-mask-to-enter-virtually-every-major-retail-store-in-america

If you are adamant about not wearing a mask, you are not going to like this news one bit. Coming into this week, Costco, Starbucks, Best Buy and Panera Bread were requiring customers to wear masks to come into their stores, but most other major retailers were still giving people the freedom to choose whether they wanted to wear a mask or not. I know that a lot of people appreciated this freedom to choose, but it is about to come to an abrupt end. On Wednesday, Walmart and Kroger announced that they will be starting to require consumers to wear masks in all of their stores, and the National Retail Federation is pushing all of the rest of their members to do the same thing. In the days ahead it is expected that most of them will follow suit, and that means that soon there will be very few major retail stores that you are able to enter without wearing a mask. [more]

A run on cents: Why coins are disappearing from cash registers across the country
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/customer-spare-dime-pandemic-leads-190817082.html

The apparent absence of enough coins in the nation's marketplace has so alarmed the federal government that last month the Federal Reserve established a U.S. Coin Task Force to "mitigate the effects of low coin inventories caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."

The 22 members of the task force were announced Friday, representing government agencies, banks and businesses, and they will meet this month with the goal of sharing recommendations in early August to identify "actionable steps that supply chain participants can take to address the current coin circulation issue."

Daniel Soques, an assistant professor of economics at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, called the situation a "perfect storm" of circumstances born out of the pandemic, during which businesses that deal heavily in coins, such as laundromats, may have closed, while the fear of getting the coronavirus by touching currency may have spurred people to avoid physical monetary transactions altogether. Coinstar, which operates about 22,000 coin-cashing kiosks nationwide, said volume slowed amid state and city lockdowns. New coin production was also hampered at the U.S. Mint's production facilities in March and April.

And when the economy started tanking with record losses in the spring, it was enough for some people to "start hoarding coins and hoarding money in general," Soques said. [more]

    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/why-didnt-summer-kill-the-coronavirus-experts-explain-what-white-house-officials-were-missing-173100360.html

Rachel Baker, a postdoctorate fellow at the Princeton Environmental Institute, was one of three authors of a study published May 15 in the journal Science on how SARS-CoV-2 — the virus that causes COVID-19 — may be affected by climate. In it, she and her colleagues concluded that summer was unlikely to have a major effect on the spread of COVID-19. Their findings did not inherently contradict Bryan’s; they too found that the virus may be weakened by sunlight and warmth. But their research contained a pivotal missing piece: that a virus with zero immunity is more powerful than both.

“When you have a new virus and the population lacks any immunity to that virus, it’s just going to spread really well, and the climate is not going to matter much,” Bakers tells Yahoo Life. “We made that prediction in May and are now seeing all the cases come up in Florida and Texas, these places that are very warm, have lots of UV light, all these kinds of climate variables that people were saying might slow down the virus. But that ended up not being the case. It was sort of sad but interesting to see those predictions come true.” [more]

America Is on Track for a Million Coronavirus Cases a Day, and at Least 800,000 Deaths, by the End of 2020
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/america-track-million-coronavirus-cases-112633549.html

If someone had suggested five months ago that we would be seeing more than 3 million cases and 135,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. by mid-July, I wouldn’t have believed it.

But now it’s distinctly possible that, five months from now, half of all Americans could have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, and more than 800,000 Americans may die in this extraordinary outbreak. That is what many of our most prominent public-health experts now expect. [more]

Americans Tear Up Old Eating Habits, Forcing Farms to Raze Crops
    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/americans-tear-old-eating-habits-150000784.html

U.S. consumers, whose previous food preferences were stable enough that farmers could often make reliable planting decisions years in advance, have shifted their habits at a torrential pace during the coronavirus pandemic. That includes cooking more at home, buying more organic food, purchasing in bulk, forgoing brand-name treats and eating smaller meals due to fewer trips to restaurants with their often oversized portions.

Even one of those changes by itself could throw a wrench in the global food supply chain. Add all five together, and some suppliers are finding they can’t adapt fast enough to keep pace with all the changing consumer demands. Farmers like Jack Vessey, a lettuce grower in California, have been forced to destroy crops after restaurant demand dried up, while Oreo-maker Mondelez International Inc. is cutting its product offerings by 25% to simplify logistics.

“The entire food supply chain has been put on its head,” said Kevin Kenny, chief operating officer at Decernis, an expert in global food safety and supply chains. “Nobody can really do a post-mortem because we are still in the middle of it.” [more]

Heroic 6-year-old Bridger Walker, who required 90 stitches to his cheek after being bitten in the face when defending his little sister from an onrushing dog, has been named ‘honorary world champion’ by the World Boxing Council.

“On July 9th, my six year old nephew Bridger saved his little sister’s life by standing between her and a charging dog,” the boy’s aunt wrote in the post, which has received over a million likes.

“After getting bit several times on the face and head, he grabbed his sister’s hand and ran with her to keep her safe.”

The dog clamped its jaws around the left side of Bridger’s face, slicing open his cheek and leaving him needing a two-hour surgery and 90 stitches to close the wound. [more]
