Event Update For 2014-09-18

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2014-09-18 - Passenger plane takes off, engine explodes, smoke fills cabin, plane lands in coastal Long Beach (California):

Quote: "Actor Jackson Rathbone tweeted that he was on the flight with his wife and child and wrote, 'Our right engine exploded and our cabin filled with smoke.' The smoke was so thick it was difficult to see the person next to them, two passengers told KCAL."

Quote: "Cellphone video shows the terrifying moments just 10 minutes into the flight. White smoke filled the cabin as passengers tried to stay calm while putting on oxygen masks. 'It was pretty nerve-wracking, man, you couldn't see really in front of you, the entire plane filled with smoke all the way, lot of loud banging,' said passenger Shaun Mahoney."

Note: A passenger plane engine just burst into flame two days prior, shortly after takeoff, and made an emergency landing in coastal Barcelona (Spain), mentioned in the 2014-09-16 update. Increasing numbers of planes are coming down smoking or on fire now, as expected with the atmosphere being increasingly contaminated by flammable gases. If you've got some flying to do, you might wanna get 'er done sooner rather than later because the problem is just going to continue to get worse as time goes on...

The fire broke out on in the Java Sea, about a mile south of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan. 56 crew members have been evacuated, but the chief engineer was trapped in the engine compartment and was still missing and presumably dead."

Note: I'm sure they do believe it was deliberate. If I was totally oblivious of all the parked vehicles spontaneously igniting regularly around the planet, I'd probably think the same thing. In any case, oblivious fire investigators aside, I don't see any evidence of people being involved in starting this fire, so there's no reason to think this was arson...

Quote: "Denver Fire Captain Greg Pixley said the 2:30 p.m. 911 call initially came in as a report of someone having a heart attack at the Lobatos' home. But when firefighters arrived they found not one, but two patients, he added. Finding the man and woman were dead, firefighters tested the home's air but detected no harmful carbon monoxide levels.."

Note: Not carbon monoxide. Soooo...just a coincidence that two people in the same house dropped dead at the same time? Or did something common to both of them - something in the environment - kill them? Hydrogen sulfide can stop hearts, disrupt breathing, damage brains, lungs, kidneys, all kinds of stuff. Could be some gas blew through in the wee hours and adsorbed onto stuff and both of these people then touched something that the gas had contaminated, or maybe their AC pumped in a few breaths of gas from outdoors, or perhaps their water supply is contaminated. Kinda like when Whitney Houston dropped dead in her bathtub and then the very next day her daughter lost consciousness in that same bathtub - same water supply...

2014-09-18 - Building under construction collapses along wharf on coastal Cape Sable Island (Canada), 3 injured:

2014-09-18 - Elevated hydrogen sulfide levels hit the Coachella Valley (California), blamed on the Salton Sea:

Note: And now that gas will settle into low-lying areas, adsorb onto wood/paper/tires/trash and more, and it will concentrate, the large low-concentration cloud breaking up into many much smaller but higher-concentration clouds. Any cloud - like, say, one in a ditch - that reaches 1 part per 1000 in concentration will be immediately fatal to anyone that breathes it, and you may be slow-poisoned by skin contact with materials onto which the gas has adsorbed too...

2014-09-18 - Chemical odor forces employees out of business, source of odor not discovered, in Provo (Utah):

Quote: "The Provo Fire Department received a call of a strong chemical smell inside the Smith MegaDiamond building around 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, they say several employees complained of minor skin and eye irritation. Firefighters spent about an hour trying to determine the source of the odor but could not."

2014-09-18 - Chemical smell emanates from toilets at bus station in Coventry (Britain), 5 injured:

Quote: "Five people have been injured after a suspected chemical leak at Pool Meadow Bus Station. Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the Fairfax Street station in Coventry city centre after reports of a strong chemical smell coming from the public toilets."

Note: Hydrogen sulfide is commonly called 'sewer gas'. Lots of people have been found dead in bathrooms and toilets in recent times. If the sewer trap isn't filled or isn't functioning properly then the gas can infiltrate buildings that way. A woman was gassed to death by hydrogen sulfide in her home in Kansas City (Missouri) because of a dry sewer trap, mentioned in the 2013-07-04 update...

2014-09-18 - Noxious odor hits McMinnville (Oregon), blamed on sewers, or maybe a landfill, or maybe manure:

Quote: "The mysterious stench in McMinnville left many guessing. Some thought sewer work around town was the culprit. But large vacuums used in the process typically suck up any related smells, said city employee Mike Hailey. Others pointed the finger at the Riverbend Landfill. Waste Management spokesperson Jackie Lang said it received several calls from residents about what was described as a sewage smell. That typically is not the type of odor a landfill would produce, Lang said."

Note: Landfills do emit both hydrogen sulfide and methane. Methane is odorless, but hydrogen sulfide is called 'sewer gas'. This might've simply been a cloud of hydrogen sulfide blowing through this area coming in off the Pacific Ocean, which, not coincidentally, has been dying off hard this last year. The fact that they smelled it AND that it smelled bad is actually sort of good because that means that the concentration was low. But now the gas will sink into low-lying areas and concentrate, creating much smaller - but potentially lethal - clouds of gas that may blow around in that area for a bit until the winds take it elsewhere...
