The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. Note: It's a desperation measure, but seeing as we're going to get plenty desperate, I'm sure we'll try it, regardless of its ultimate effectiveness and regardless of what unintended side effects might result. That's assuming we aren't doing it already. High temperature records are being obliterated regularly now, and temps of 120F+ are already broiling more cities. Once those 120s become 130s, and certainly by the time the 130s become 140s, people will demand that governments 'do something', so even if geo-engineering is a complete bust, or even makes things worse, at least it'll look like governments are doing something...
