The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. A strong, quick-hitting winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow and gusty winds to the Northern Plains into the Upper and Mid-Mississippi Valley, U.S. that may cause some hazardous travel beginning Thursday night, January 13, 2022, through Friday night. The storm system is expected to impact the Mid-South, Southeast, and East Coast this weekend.
The associated area of low pressure will be fast-moving and enter the Central Plains by Friday night, shifting the swath of heavy snow into Iowa during the day on Friday and northern Missouri by Saturday morning.
Difficult driving conditions are likely throughout this region as roads become snow-covered.

A Navy MH-60S "Seahawk" helicopter was forced down in a field and crashed into trees Wednesday northwest of Norfolk, Virginia, causing injuries to a passenger, Navy and state officials confirmed.
Virginia State Police said in an emailed statement to Military.com that the helicopter was making an emergency landing in an open field, and "the momentum of the craft caused it to slide into the wood line" in Isle of Wight County.

Dusti Talavera, 23, ran out of her Denver area home and managed to pull two of the children to safety before falling through the ice herself.
“I just kind of put some shoes on and ran outside because nobody was really outside," Talavera said at a news conference Monday. "It was me, I just knew it was me that had to do it.”
After pulling two of the children out of the water, Talavera fell through the ice while helping the last one, a 6-year-old girl.
Luckily, the little girl’s cousin came out and threw Talavera a rope and helped pull them both to safety.
When deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office arrived, the 6-year-old was not breathing. They took off her wet coat and performed CPR until paramedics arrived, NBC Denver reported.
The girl was taken to the hospital for treatment and back with her family on Wednesday morning. [more]
