The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

Geopolitical commentator Clint Ehrlich has reported while on the ground in Moscow that "the situation in Kazakhstan is a much bigger deal than Western media is letting on." He further argues that the mayhem unleashed this past week and ongoing violent destabilization significantly increases the risk of NATO-Russia conflict.
This isn't just any former Soviet republic. It's almost as important to Russia as Belarus or Ukraine.
First, Russia and Kazakhstan have the largest continuous land border on planet earth. If Kazakhstan destabilizes, a significant fraction of the country's 19 million residents could become refugees streaming across the border. Russia is not willing to let that happen.
Second, roughly one-quarter of the population of Kazakhstan is ethnic Russians.
Third, the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan was the heart of the Soviet space program.
Fourth, Russia conducts its Anti-Ballistic Missile testing at the Sary-Shagan test site within Kazakhstan.
Fifth, Russia's nuclear fuel cycle is intimately linked to Kazakhstan. Russian-backed Uranium mining operations are active in the country. Uranium from Kazakhstan is enriched in Novouralsk, Russia and then returned to Kazakhstan for use in Chinese nuclear-fuel assemblies. [more]

Based on our preliminary estimates for 2020, global emissions—including emissions of all six Kyoto gases, inclusive of land-use and forests and international bunkers—dropped from 52.4 gigatons of CO2e in 2019 to 50.1 gigatons in 2020 (Figure 1). This marks a 4.4% decline from 2019 levels, by far the largest drop in recorded history. Baby in a cardboard box
As temperatures were plunging in Fairbanks on New Year’s Eve, another drama played out: An infant was found abandoned in a cardboard box on the roadside in a neighborhood west of the city, with little explanation beyond a note explaining that the baby’s mother and grandparents were unable to provide for it.
Thanks to the quick actions of neighbors who found the newborn, the baby was doing well after being transported to the hospital for care.
Troopers have since located and contacted the baby’s mother, who was herself taken for treatment. In the meantime, a groundswell of Interior residents reached out offering care and supplies for baby and mother alike, recognizing a moment when things could have gone much worse and hoping to provide support. A five-alarm fire at a high-rise apartment building has left at least 19 people dead and over a dozen critically injured in the New York borough of the Bronx. Many are hospitalized with smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out on the third floor of the 19-story building on Sunday morning. While the original cause remains unknown, firefighters were called to the site around 11am local time and say the door to the apartment where it began was left open, allowing the conflagration to spread more quickly. The UK’s Health Secretary (Sajid Javid) was on a photo-op around King’s College Hospital in London, which was being filmed by Sky News. He asked a group of nurses how they felt about the mandatory vaccinations for health care workers but after a few awkward glances and a lot of silence, a doctor approached, from out of shot and started to give his views.
The doctor in question was Steve James, a consultant anaesthetist at the hospital. He is a consultant in critical care and exercise testing and has also treated Covid patients in the ITU since early on in the pandemic. Steve trained at Cambridge University and then Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry before qualifying in 1999. Another highly qualified individual with a lot of experience, especially with Covid and severe disease from COVID-19, telling it like it is.
Dr. James proceeded to tell the Health Secretary that he was unvaccinated, had no intention of getting vaccinated but was going to lose his job shortly due to the upcoming mandatory vaccination policies.
He explained that he already had Covid, so had just as good antibody protection as if he had been given the vaccine. The Health Secretary challenged him on this saying that his protection would wane. However, Dr. James responded by explaining how quickly the vaccine protection waned and in order to keep everybody with the adequate protection, the whole of the health service would needed boosting EVERY MONTH!
