Event Update For 2020-07-27

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Jeez Jonny, bad day for boats, buses, planes, vehicles of all kinds, residential structures, and people keeling over!

People think "how can we be killing off 200 or more species a day?" Then ya read that 3 BILLION creatures were killed in ONE megafire event (nobody ever tallied up how many died in the various CA megafires) and it all becomes clear (it's an AVERAGE number, with some days WAY over that).

The fall was even greater in Europe at 93%, and for some groups of fish, with sturgeon and eel populations both down by more than 90%.

New CDC and WHO Study Proves 'No Evidence' Facemasks Prevent Virus
    https://www.sott.net/article/438657-New-CDC-and-WHO-Study-Proves-No-Evidence-Facemasks-Prevent-Virus

Facebook's so-called "fact checkers" have struck again, claiming that my report on the science that proves that wearing facemasks, especially in non-medical settings does almost nothing to prevent the spread of a virus, is false... citing that it was based on old information.

Now, I'm reporting on a new study created in conjunction with the World Health Organization and published by the CDC from less than 60 days ago that once again proves that there is no evidence that wearing face masks in public prevents the spread of flu-like viruses. I'm also going to show you why the Facebook fact-checking system cannot be trusted. [more]

Wearing a Mask Might Protect the Wearer From Severe COVID-19, a New Study Says
    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/face-masks-may-protect-wearer-215352103.html

Experts have been recommending face masks as a way to prevent the spread of coronavirus; the wearer of the face mask can protect people around them because the mask blocks respiratory droplets, which have been identified as a main means of COVID-19 transmission. But could wearing a face mask also protect the wearer? It's a possibility, according to a new paper from researchers at the University of California - San Francisco and John Hopkins, which will be published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine.

The paper draws on "virologic, epidemiologic, and ecologic evidence" to make the argument that wearing a face mask could result in a lower "viral dose," or amount of coronavirus particles, taken in by a wearer exposed to the virus. And according to several studies cited by the researchers, a lower viral dose can lead to less severe symptoms, or even no symptoms at all, of a given illness, including COVID-19.[more]

  2. As Covid-19 Surges, California Farmworkers Are Paying a High Price

A survey of workers in 21 counties found the coronavirus is devastating them directly and indirectly, with farm hubs having the highest infection rates in the state.

The collapse of food service demands when most businesses and institutions shut down has cut farm jobs statewide by 20 percent, or 100,000. Many farmworkers who are still working have had their hours or days reduced, sometimes without warning. Lockdowns have also cost workers second jobs they needed to make ends meet. People are becoming violently angry even over very trivial matters, and you never know when someone might erupt.

The mainstream media deserves a lot of the blame for this. Over and over they keep telling us that the riots that are happening in our major cities each night are “peaceful”, but everyone can see that they are not.

If it is perfectly acceptable for rioters to attack police officers, destroy buildings and commit other acts of violence because they are “offended” by the system, then a lot of other young people out there are going to give themselves permission to violently erupt when they are “offended” by something as well. Anthénea is a luxury, floating hotel suite and a water-based mobile home. It’s designed by architect Jean-Michel Ducancelle, whose inspiration for the vessel came from James Bond’s floating pod in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me.

The floating habitat runs off of solar energy and releases clean water back into the ocean using black and gray water stations. It uses sand screw anchoring to avoid any damage to the underwater ecosystem and environment. Inside, the dome-shaped vessel offers 360-views of the ocean. The bedroom includes an extra large round bed with an overflow round bathtub that can be filled with sea or freshwater. There's also a small living area with kitchen necessities and fiberglass windows that allow you to see into the ocean. On top, the pod has an open, outdoor seating area that accommodates up to 12 people. [more; take a look!]

Paul Krugman: 'One Way Or Another, The Economy Is Going To Lock Down Again’
    https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/paul-krugman-economy-prediction-coronavirus-092933494.html

“One way or another, the economy is going to lock down again,” warned Paul Krugman on Tuesday night.

“This is where we’ve gotten to,” the noted economist lamented to CNN’s Don Lemon. “We squandered the chance to actually bring this thing (the coronavirus) under control,” he said, pointing to the premature reopening of states (encouraged by President Donald Trump), which led to a devastating resurgence of COVID-19.

Krugman predicted a new lockdown would come about either “because governors and hopefully the president finally says ‘OK, we screwed it up, we need to do it over again’ or just because people are too afraid” to go out and resume business as usual. A newly-promoted Chicago police officer and father of two has died by suicide, city officials said Tuesday – at least the second officer this year to die by suicide in a department that has long struggled with officers taking their own lives.

Police officers, in general, are at particularly high risk of alcohol abuse, depression, suicidal thoughts, posttraumatic stress disorder and other challenges, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Nearly 1 in 4 officers has thoughts of suicide at some point in their life. [more]

The Texas COVID-19 Death Surge Is Here, and It’s Terrifying
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-covid-19-death-surge-083555443.html

Six months ago this week, when the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a public health emergency of international concern, Texas had zero cases—and few reasons to expect it would become one of the hardest-hit areas in the world.

But as hospitalizations and deaths have surged in recent weeks, its departure from successful public health responses in the rest of the country—and the world at large—has only grown more stark.

After a brief lockdown, Texas was one of the first states in the U.S. to reopen, at lightning speed. And after weeks of skyrocketing case totals—with local officials clashing with state leaders on everything from the reopening of bars to mask mandates—the inevitable surge in fatalities has arrived.

As of Monday, according to state health data, Texas had 385,924 total cumulative cases and 5,713 deaths. Just a week earlier, on July 20, Texas passed 4,000 deaths from the disease. To be clear, that means 20 percent of all deaths in the state happened in just six days. [more]

Europe's last dictator got COVID-19 after telling people they could avoid it by drinking vodka and going to the sauna
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/europes-last-dictator-got-covid-174124749.html

Europe's last dictator, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, on Tuesday said he had COVID-19 but has already recovered.

"Today you are meeting a man who managed to survive the coronavirus on his feet. Doctors came to such a conclusion yesterday. Asymptomatic," Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko previously dismissed fears over COVID-19 as a "psychosis" and recommended drinking vodka to stay healthy.

  6. Hundreds to quarantine after COVID-19 case linked to Florida high school graduation ceremony
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/hundreds-quarantine-covid-19-case-222621721.html

Nearly 300 recent Florida high school graduates and their guests have been asked to quarantine after health officials said an attendee at Saturday's Bayside High School commencement ceremony had COVID-19.

Families were notified about the case Monday in a letter from the Florida Department of Health in Brevard County.

The individual tested positive for the virus "shortly after attending," said Anita Stremmel, the department's assistant county health director, in an email to FLORIDA TODAY.

"The Florida Department of Health was notified about the positive case by Brevard Public Schools and we confirmed the positive result in our lab reporting system," Stremmel said.

"We are advising anyone who attended the graduation ceremony to self-quarantine and monitor their symptoms for 14 days," she said. [more]

Trump Campaign Adviser Jenna Ellis: Separation of Church and State Is a Liberal Lie
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-campaign-adviser-jenna-ellis-183625079.html

The notion that the United States observes a separation of church and state is a lie, according to President Donald Trump’s senior campaign legal adviser.

“The left is going to tell you there’s this separation of church and state, and that’s just nowhere in the Constitution, nowhere in American law,” Jenna Ellis declared Monday evening during a Zoom event hosted by Asian Pacific Americans for Trump. “That’s nothing that our founding principles ever, uh, derived whatsoever.”

The concept of a firewall between church and state authorities, Ellis claimed, is a mere “twisting a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Church that was simply talking about the three tiers of authority that God himself ordained—the church government, the civil government, and the family government.” [more; they don't pay taxes but get million$]

Why do so many COVID-19 patients lose their sense of smell? Scientists now know.
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/why-many-covid-patients-lose-205712027.html

Scientists have figured out how COVID-19 causes many people to lose their sense of smell. And they have good news: The loss appears to be temporary because the actual cells in the nose that detect smell aren’t harmed.

Temporary loss of smell is called anosmia by doctors. It's one of the earliest and most commonly reported indicators of COVID-19. In fact, studies suggest it’s a better predictor of infection with the disease than fever and cough.

In a paper published Friday, researchers found that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, instead attacks the cells that support those smell-detecting neurons but not the neurons themselves. [more]

US is expected to report a record-breaking economic plunge
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-expected-report-record-breaking-155015482.html

Having endured what was surely a record-shattering slump last quarter, the U.S. economy faces a dim outlook as a resurgent coronavirus intensifies doubts about any sustained recovery the rest of the year.

A huge plunge in consumer spending as people stayed home and avoided shopping, traveling or gathering in crowds as the virus raged is estimated to have sent the economy sinking at a roughly 32% annual rate in the April-June quarter. That would be more than triple the previous worst quarterly economic fall, a 10% drop set in 1958. Depressed activity in such areas as business investment, home construction and government spending also likely contributed to the worst quarterly contraction on records dating to 1947.

On Thursday, the government will issue its first of three estimates of economic activity, as measured by the gross domestic product, for the April-June quarter. [more]

Covid-19: Infectious coronaviruses 'circulating in bats for decades'

[bullshit, it's just as likely that humans infected THEM at this rate]

Research suggests one of the closest known ancestors of the virus that causes Covid-19 emerged in bats between 40 and 70 years ago.

It has been poised for human crossover for some time, the scientists said. [eh, wool fuck you Doc, yer late on 'at one]

He said that while Sars-CoV-2 (the [so-called] pandemic coronavirus) is genetically very close to the nearest known bat viruses, they are separated in time by several decades.
[well it doesn't have HIV sewn in 'air, now does it?]

College Campuses and Towns Have No Good Choices
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/college-campuses-towns-no-good-130015922.html

College life this fall is going to be a potential source of trouble -- both on campus and for the towns where colleges are located. Meeting friends, dorm life, socializing and attending classes are among the highest-risk activities in terms of spreading Covid-19 because they involve prolonged indoor personal contact. A study from South Korea shows that young people in their late teens and early 20s spread the virus faster than people of other ages.

So many colleges are likely to risk coronavirus outbreaks in order to save their pocketbooks. But ironically, they may end up getting the worst of both worlds. Just as premature reopenings of bars, stores and restaurants ended up causing big Covid outbreaks and hurting business activity in many Sun Belt states, virus outbreaks on campuses could cause a stampede away from universities eroding trust in universities as responsible stewards of young people’s health and safety. And at the same time, enough classes are online, and enough students are staying home, that a long-term shift toward distance education is unlikely to be staved off simply by having kids on campus in the fall.

So one way or another, a big hit to university tuition is coming -- on top of the big hits from state budget cuts and the decline in foreign students. That triple whammy will end up closing many colleges that are barely profitable -- a trend that began before the pandemic -- and will force many others to cut salaries and services. [more]
