Quote: "Emergency crews in Cornwall are tackling a large fire at a boat yard in Wadebridge. Cornwall Fire and Rescue said the fire broke out at the site near the A39 at about 3pm on Monday. Crews from Wadebridge and Bodmin have been dealing with the fire, which caused smoke seen from miles around."

http://strangesounds.org/2020/06/invasion-deadly-mutant-ticks-russia-video.html

Quote: "A 'large number inter-species hybrids' which produce 'fertile offspring' have invaded Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions, said Dr Nina Tikhunova, of the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine, Novosibirsk. This mutant 'is capable of carrying infectious agents associated with both parent species'."

Note: This sounds like a consequence of global warming. Russia just had its warmest winter ever. It was 86F in Siberia just a week or two ago. Normally the intensely cold winters in Siberia would keep insect populations in check, but with the rising warmth it looks like at least ticks are flourishing. There've been other tick-related stories in the past year or so too. Some cows were found in the US drained of blood and swarming with ticks, sparking fears that humans might be next on the menu. Ticks have been spreading up into Canada along the US Northeast and killing moose. And mutant super ticks that reproduce via parthenogenesis and only need one tick to hatch a brood are spreading across the US. The world is getting much more hostile for human beings, but it looks like ticks are enjoying the way things are going!

http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/richmond-man-arrested-after-allegedly-trying-to-eat-grandmothers-body/2301946/

Quote: "Richmond man was arrested this week on suspicion of murder and was reportedly found attempting to eat the victim's body when law enforcement officers arrived, a police spokesman said Tuesday. Police received a report around 2:10 p.m. Monday of a woman on the ground bleeding and a man standing near her at a residence on the 1200 block of Club Court, according to Richmond police spokesman Sgt. Aaron Pomeroy. Officers arrived at the residence to find 37-year-old Dwayne Wallick standing over 90-year-old Ruby Wallick, his grandmother, and digging in her flesh."

Quote: "Stunned officers found 37-year-old Dwayne Wallick standing over 90-year-old Ruby Wallick, his grandmother, digging into her flesh and attempting to eat the remains. Wallick was ordered to stop, but he ignored the officers and continued what he was doing, police said."

Note: Very similar to the original face-eater incident on the coast in Florida. A man's car broke down on the MacArthur Causeway. He got out, started walking down the causeway, stripping naked as he went. Then he came upon a homeless guy and attacked him, biting his face and gouging out both of his eyes. Cops arrived and found him munching on the poor homeless guy's face and they told him to stop. He growled at them then continued eating the homeless guy's face, so they shot him. That didn't stop him, so they shot him five more times and that finally killed him. No drugs were found in his system. He went from being a normal guy who had his car break down to a ravening naked face-eating lunatic with superhuman durability in about 15 minutes...

2020-06-04 - Melting permafrost causes ground collapse, 20,000 tons of fuel leaks out of power plant into the Ambarnaya River near Norilsk (Russia):

http://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/04/world/europe/russia-oil-spill-arctic.html
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52915807

Quote: "The leak is believed to have been caused by melting permafrost causing major subsidence, damaging the giant power station tank containing the poisonous diesel, which then caught fire and spewed into local rivers."

Quote: "The damage to the Ambarnaya River near Norilsk in the Russian Arctic, pictured, could be so severe it could take over a decade and over a billion pounds to clean up..."

Note: Oh yeah, there's going to be a whole lot of this kind of thing going on as the ground collapses from the melting permafrost. Melting permafrost is already destroying roads and bridges and homes in Alaska too. The permafrost had never melted before in human history so people built stuff on the permafrost thinking that it wasn't going to melt anytime soon, if ever, but the planet has warmed so much and so fast that millions of acres of permafrost are ALREADY melting and what isn't melting yet will be soon.

For a while Putin was excited about all the ice melting in the Arctic, because that has opened up shipping routes that never existed before in all of human history, allowing easy shipment of Russian oil to consumers. He's not so excited about it now that he sees that the heat's also going to wipe out all of his pipelines, and if he can't pipe the oil to the ports for the ships to load up with then the faster Arctic shipping routes won't matter. He didn't think that through very well. Derp.

Russia will basically need to rebuild just about everything in areas containing permafrost - every road, every bridge, every rail line, every power plant, every building, every pipeline. The cost to do that would be beyond vast, so they won't, and things will just fall apart and collapse like this power plant. The smell of all the biomatter rotting as the permafrost thaws will also make life pretty intolerable for anyone in or near those areas, unless anthrax from thawing animal corpses kills them first. And now they've got hybrid tick swarms sending thousands of people to hospitals thanks to the warmth too. Good times up north!

http://scroll.in/latest/964010/mumbai-bmc-receives-complaints-of-gas-leak-foul-smell-urges-residents-to-not-panic

Quote: "The Mumbai Fire Brigade has said no leakage of any gas was found in areas where residents complained about the foul smell to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) late on Saturday, news agency ANI reported on Sunday."

Quote: "Officials said they are also looking at other possible sources of the foul smell. 'We are also looking into the possibility if it could be a methane build-up in drains. The investigation is on-going,' a senior officer said."

Note: Apparently they are unaware that methane is odorless. This was probably hydrogen sulfide blowing in off the ocean. The fact that people THOUGHT it smelled like the odorant added to natural gas - e.g. rotten eggs - but no natural gas was detected anywhere is an indicator that it was hydrogen sulfide. This has happened many times in many places: people think there's a gas leak and it turns out to be hydrogen sulfide or they never say what it was at all.

Eventually a cloud of hydrogen sulfide with 1 part per thousand concentration or greater is going to blow onto a coastal city and kill a lot of people. Not necessarily in India, of course. It could happen in California or Florida or Texas or Australia or the Bahamas or Britain or France, etc. In fact, hydrogen sulfide has been killing people and animals on the Brittany Coast in France since last year and right across the English Channel from France, beaches in Britain have already been hit by unknown poison gas blowing ashore, sending beachgoers fleeing and puking...

2020-06-08 - Noctilucent clouds spread to mid-latitudes:
http://www.sott.net/article/435907-Noctilucent-clouds-spread-to-mid-latitudes
http://www.wunderground.com/cat6/Methane-Giving-Noctilucent-Clouds-Boost
http://phys.org/news/2018-07-climate-night-shining-clouds-visible.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noctilucent_cloud

Quote: "Noctilucent clouds (NLCs) are spilling across the Arctic Circle and descending to mid-latitudes. 'During morning twilight, the north was unusually bright with beautiful blue-green clouds,' reports Debra Ceravolo of Osoyoos, BC, Canada. 'It is rare to see them here at 49 degrees latitude.'"

Quote: "Last summer, noctilucent clouds spread as far south as Los Angeles and Las Vegas, setting records for low-latitude sightings."

Quote: "A rarely-seen type of cloud at very high altitudes appears to be getting more common as a result of human-produced climate change, but it’s not high temperatures that are forcing the shift. Instead, a modeling study released this month finds that the increasing reports of noctilucent (night-shining) clouds can be explained by ever-larger amounts of water vapor produced from methane."

Quote: "Water vapor in the middle atmosphere comes from two sources: water vapor from Earth's surface that is transported upward, and methane, a potent greenhouse gas that produces water vapor through chemical reactions in the middle atmosphere. The study found the increase in atmospheric methane since the late 1800s has significantly increased the amount of water vapor in the middle atmosphere. This more than doubled the amount of mesospheric ice present in the mid latitudes from 1871 to 2008, according to the study."

Quote: "Recent studies suggest that increased atmospheric methane emissions produce additional water vapor once the methane molecules reach the mesosphere – creating, or reinforcing existing noctilucent clouds."

Note: The rising methane levels in the atmosphere are causing more noctilucent clouds and causing them to spread farther south too. What none of those stories really go into detail about is HOW the methane is turned into water vapor. It happens when methane reacts with either ozone or hydroxyl radicals (HO). The reaction destroys the methane molecule and also destroys the ozone or HO molecule and creates water vapor and carbon dioxide. Both ozone and hydroxyl radicals are important. Ozone shields us from UV radiation from the Sun. Hydroxyl radicals are the atmosphere's detergents, reacting away many pollutants. A gigantic ozone hole 3 times the size of Greenland opened over the Arctic earlier this year. And now noctilucent clouds are spreading southward from the Arctic. Both of these events surely have a great deal to do with the rising amount of methane in the atmosphere...

And they still don't know if getting it confers immunity, or if it does for how long, they don't know if you can get it multiple times, and they don't know when there will be a vaccine or even if there will EVER be one. There's not always a vaccine for a disease. They've been trying to develop a vaccine for HIV for well over 30 years and gotten nowhere...
