Event Update For 2020-02-12
http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html
The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.
A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "Multicultural Magnet School at 700 Palisade Ave. was evacuated around 12:30 p.m. after a report of an odor of gas, according to Scott Appleby, director of emergency management/communications and homeland security. Firefighters responded to the school to investigate. Around 2:10 p.m., Appleby said firefighters found there was no source for the odor. He said students were able to return to classes."
Note: There was no source for the odor IN THE SCHOOL. So it probably got sucked in via the HVAC system from the atmosphere. They didn't check the atmosphere. Maybe when a bunch of students collapse to the ground foaming at the mouth and die then they'll be able to figure things out. We'll see!

The end is in sight, Jonny. If this virus blooms as expected in the rest of the world (and deaths follow the same pattern, which they haven't yet, but the virus continues mutating) we're looking at a big drop in human population (some say as high as 2/3 of the global population might be infected with many dying as a result), but that would only be the beginning!
ReplyDeleteAs it is, even IF this thing doesn't pan out like SOTT thinks, the global supply chain problem will still happen (it's already under way) and effect all other countries that rely on Asia for parts and necessities. To date, the airline industry, tourism, cruise ships, freighters, truck traffic, and more IS being impacted (with more to come). As the situation worsens, we're going to see some heavy-handed tactics (possibly Marshall Law) to contain it.
TGIF anyway, Jonny and everyone reading JJFH.
Let's see what's happ'nin'

World Economy Projected To Shrink For First Time Since 2009 As Coronavirus Plays Havoc With Global Supply Chains
http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/world-economy-projected-to-shrink-for-first-time-since-2009-as-coronavirus-plays-havoc-with-global-supply-chains
For more than a decade, the global economy has steadily grown quarter after quarter, but it looks like that streak is about to come to a very abrupt ending. The coronavirus outbreak in China has brought the Chinese economy to a virtual standstill, and as a result critical supply chains are in a state of chaos all over the world. And since it doesn’t look like the Chinese economy will be able to return to normal for an extended period of time, it appears that a worldwide economic slowdown is imminent. I warned about this the other day, but now we have even a clearer picture of what is happening. According to Capital Economics in London, this coronavirus outbreak will cause the global economy to shrink this quarter, and that will be the very first time this has happened since 2009… [more]

January 2020 Temperature Anomaly
http://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2020/02/january-2020-temperature-anomaly.html
Above image shows NOAA Land+Ocean monthly temperature anomalies from the 20th century average. A trend has been added, based on the Jan.1880-Jan.2020 data. The trend shows that data in the early 1900s were some 0.28°C below the 20th century average.
Adjustment
When using a 1750 baseline, the data need to be adjusted even more than that 0.28°C, since it was even colder in 1750. The total baseline adjustment may well be 0.58°C, as discussed in an earlier post. Furthermore, ocean data in above image are sea surface temperatures. To reflect air temperatures, a further 0.1°C adjustment is applied. Finally, an extra 0.1°C adjustment is applied to reflect higher polar temperatures (as opposed to leaving out missing data). Altogether, this adds up to a 0.78°C adjustment, which implies that the temperature in January 2020 was 1.92°C above pre-industrial. [more]

Coronavirus can be spread by people who don’t show symptoms, CDC warn
http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2020/02/cdc-coronavirus-can-be-spread-by-people.html
Coronavirus can be spread through people who aren’t exhibiting symptoms of the illness, the director of the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention said Thursday.
Dr. Robert Redfield confirmed reports out of China that the virus can spread when the person is still asymptomatic, according to CNN.
“There’s been good communication with our colleagues to confirm asymptomatic infection, to confirm asymptomatic transmission, to be able to get a better handle on the clinical spectrum of illness in China,” Redfield told the outlet.
Redfield said it’s not known how much the asymptomatic cases are contributing to the spread of the virus — which has sickened more than 60,000 people worldwide — but the discovery is concerning. [more; ya THINK?!]

According to Bloomberg, that's what WHO advisor Ira Longini said after finishing a study of the virus's transmissibility. His estimates suggest that the virus could one day infect billions of people, far more than the ~60,000 or so cases as of earlier on Thursday.
If the virus truly has a mortality rate of 2% (around the low end of current estimates), at this rate, it would kill more than 100 million. [more]

The El Niño-Southern Oscillation-neutral (ENSO) weather pattern is marked by average long-term ocean temperatures, tropical rainfall and atmospheric winds.
The chance of the neutral weather pattern continuing through summer 2020 is 50%, the National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center (CPC) said in its monthly forecast.
It is expected that oceanic temperatures will remain elevated in the near term, particularly in the western and central equatorial Pacific Ocean, the weather forecaster said. [more]
Australia's most populous state says fires contained for the first time in nearly six months
https://www.yahoo.com/news/australias-most-populous-state-says-220903261.html
Fires across Australia's most populous state are now contained for the first time in nearly six months, authorities said on Friday, as heavy rains aid firefighters and boost some dam levels to their highest in nearly two years.
Australia has been battling hundreds of blazes since September in an unusually prolonged summer wildfire season that was fueled by three years of drought, which experts have attributed to climate change.
Aided by storms that lashed Australia's east coast earlier this week, the New South Wales (NSW) Rural Fire Service (RFS) said 24 blazes remain alight across state, though all are now under control. [more]
