Event Update For 2019-10-17

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Quote: "An FDNY ambulance was involved in a minor crash on the BQE with a private car just after 1 p.m. on Thursday. FDNY officials said Liam Glinane, a 63-year-old EMT, was in that ambulance when he suffered a stroke, causing him to veer off the road. An EMS lieutenant identified as 47-year-old Raymond Wang was in a second ambulance doing a ride-along with a physician and they stopped to help after the crash. Officials say Wang suddenly became unconscious and suffered an aortic aneurysm. Both men were taken to the hospital in critical condition."

Quote: "City officials say it is a bizarre coincidence that both men experienced medical conditions at the same time."

2019-10-17 - Pennsylvania GOP working hard to criminalize protesters:
http://www.inquirer.com/columnists/attytood/pennsylvania-bill-pipeline-protests-felony-free-speech-20191017.html

Quote: "If that sounds vaguely familiar, the GOP senator’s plan is almost identical to a 2017 bill that passed the Pennsylvania Senate and died in the House. That bill also sparked a backlash from critics who said the bill’s only really purpose was to ice the First Amendment rights of legitimate dissenters, and scare away protest newcomers."

Quote: "Also back for another go-round is an arguably more punitive measure from a different GOP lawmaker — Sen. Scott Martin of Lancaster County, site of some of Pennsylvania’s most intense anti-pipeline protests — that aims to make protesters responsible for paying back governments for the costs of responding to their actions. A similar bill went nowhere in 2017."

Note: Expect to see more cracking down on protesters as the climate catastrophe continues to escalate, and not just in Pennsylvania. Since the GOP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Big Fossil Fuel, expect to see the GOP being the primary instigator in proposing most or all of these freedom-restricting and speech-restricting laws in the US, as their masters dictate. But whatever laws they may pass, whatever restrictions they may place on people, the Earth is not bound by any of that, and the climate catastrophe will continue to escalate...

Greetings Jonny, everyone. Let's see what's going on.

National Preparedness Level raised to 2
    https://wildfiretoday.com/2019/10/18/national-preparedness-level-raised-to-2/

The week after the National Interagency Coordination Center announced they were going to stop producing the daily Situation Report and only publish it weekly, they raised the National Preparedness level to 2.

The change occurred at 2 p.m. MDT Friday, “…due to an increase in resource mobilization, competition for resources, significant incidents occurring in multiple geographic areas and critical fire weather conditions in those geographic areas.”

As of today, October 18, fourteen active large fires have burned more than 228,000 acres in five states. Twelve new large fires were reported this week.

“Fire Season” is now “Fire Year”. [more]

Welcome to the USSR: the United States of Suppression and Repression
    https://washingtonsblog.com/2019/10/welcome-to-the-ussr-the-united-states-of-suppression-and-repression.html

When propaganda is cleverly engineered, people don’t even recognize it as propaganda: welcome to the USSR, the United States of Suppression and Repression. The propaganda in the U.S. has reached such a high state that the majority of people accept it as “pravda” (truth), even as their limbic system’s BS detector is sensing there is a great disturbance in the Force.

As the dissonance between the real world experienced by the citizenry and what they’re told is “pravda” by the media reaches extremes, the media is forced to double-down on the propaganda, shouting down, marginalizing, discrediting, demonetizing and suppressing dissenters via character assassination, following the old Soviet script to a tee.

It was a remarkably damning assessment of US policy in Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East. And it was by no means the first time that Gabbard has leveled with the American people on the brutality and criminality of Washington's so-called "interventions".

The other 11 Democratic candidates on the stage during the TV debate looked agog after Gabbard's devastating and calmly delivered statement. All the others have proffered the false narrative that US forces are in Syria to "fight terrorism". They deplore Trump's announcement last week to pull back US troops from northeast Syria because, they say, it will undermine the fight against Islamic State (IS or ISIS) and other Al Qaeda affiliates. They also condemn Trump for "betraying Kurdish allies" by his partial troop withdrawal. [more]

Trade suffered from US tariff increases, but the biggest impact on Chinese growth appears to come from a slowdown in domestic activity, including consumer spending and investment.

Long-Awaited Colorado Health Study Finds Significant Risks From Fracking

A long-delayed public health study commissioned by Colorado regulators found that oil and gas drilling poses health risks at distances greater than current minimum “setback” distances, a development that is poised to send shockwaves through a regulatory environment already in a state of transition and uncertainty.

“Exposure to chemicals used in oil and gas development, such as benzene, may cause short-term negative health impacts…during ‘worst-case’ conditions,” the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said in a press release. “The study found that there is a possibility of negative health impacts at distances from 300 feet out to 2,000 feet.” [more]

What Ballooning Carbon Emissions Will Do to Trees
    https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2019/10/everything-but-the-carbon-sink/599965/

Apart from the experts, few people realize that climate change could be worse. Every year, trees, shrubs, and every other kind of plant absorb 9 billion tons of CO2—one quarter of what we let loose from our tailpipes and smokestacks—and help slow the gas’s accumulation in the atmosphere. If not for the world’s photosynthesizers, the concentration of CO2 in the air, along with Earth’s temperature, would be rising much faster than it already is.

Lewis said he can’t give me specific numbers until he publishes his results. But he let on that his data show that “the sink declined.” This finding is broadly consistent with results published in a 2017 paper in the journal Science, which used measurements collected by NASA satellites to estimate plant growth and fire-related vegetation loss in the Congo forest. The authors of that paper concluded that the forest absorbed about 3 billion fewer metric tons of CO2 during the 2015 El Niño than it does during a normal year. That’s about as much CO2 as the European Union released by burning fossil fuels over the same period. [more]
