Event Update For 2019-05-14
http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html
The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.
A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

2019-05-14 - Toxic blue-green algae infesting beaches and spewing hydrogen sulfide in coastal Manatee and Sarasota Counties (Florida):
http://www.tampabay.com/environment/gumbo-of-blue-green-algae-stinks-up-manatee-and-sarasota-beaches-20190515/
Quote: "The stench it produces is part of a natural process, state agency spokeswoman Mara Gambineri said. 'Blooms of filamentous cyanobacteria can form brownish floating blobs or mats that begin to decay and emit a foul, rotten egg odor caused by the production of hydrogen sulfide gas and other organic breakdown byproducts,' she said."
Note: Who doesn't love the smell of poison gas blowing in off the ocean?! So it's not just algae decomposing and spewing hydrogen sulfide across the Caribbean and along the Atlantic coast in Mexico, it's in Florida too. The oceans are becoming more landfill-like, filled with garbage, crawling with bacteria, low in oxygen. Once the oceans become landfill-like ENOUGH that will be the end of the human race on this planet. Well, except for people who are fireproof, immune to poison, highly resistant to UV and non-reliant on oxygen, water or food - those people should be just fine!

Good morning Jonny, Fran, Mike D., Tom N., LL, Terry and FezzedOne.
ReplyDeleteWe're definitely seeing an uptick in noxious odor incidents, most likely the CH4/H2S combination Jonny re-discovered (from previous mass extinction events - no, not that he was there then, jeez).
Nothing like multiple large fires in the same month in the same location to indicate "something's going on." Add to that the underground explosions that are occurring more often, the oil tanks bursting into flame (for no apparent reason), all the people dropping dead, the continuing marine die-off and water related deaths (not to mention the ever-popular "medical events"). It's gettin' b a a a a d.

Unusually strong, winter-like storm dumping heavy rain on California, below normal temperatures
https://watchers.news/2019/05/16/unusually-strong-winter-like-storm-dumping-heavy-rain-on-california-below-normal-temperatures/
An unusually strong storm for the time of year is affecting the Western U.S., dumping heavy rain and higher elevation snow. Many cities could double or triple their normal precipitation for May, normally a dry month, in just 24 to 48 hours, meteorologists warn. This is the first of three expected waves of rain to hit the region over the next 7 days.

Leaked audio: Pilots grill Boeing officials between deadly 737 MAX crashes
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/boeing-pilots-grill-officials-on-787-max-safety-171238960.html
In a tense November 27 meeting between the pilots’ union and the aerospace giant after the Lion Air crash in October, airplane operators expressed frustration with the 737 Max, CBS reported on Tuesday.
In the audio, the pilots are heard complaining that they were unaware of the system operating on their planes after the first crash.
"We flat out deserve to know what is on our airplanes," according to an unidentified pilot obtained by CBS.
"These guys didn't even know the damn system was on the airplane — nor did anybody else," another said. "We're the last line of defense to being in that smoking hole. And we need the knowledge.” [more]
Sticky situation: Truck carrying 41,000 pounds of honey overturns on highway
https://www.yahoo.com/gma/sticky-situation-truck-carrying-41-000-pounds-honey-181000825--abc-news-topstories.html
An overturned semi-truck caused what the Indiana State Police are calling a “sticky situation” Wednesday when it spilled 20 tons of honey on Interstate 80/94.
The spill closed down three lanes of traffic for several hours while crews worked to remove the truck and its payload of 41,000 pounds of amber honey.
According to a press release from the Indiana State Police, the semi was traveling eastbound when its axle broke, causing the vehicle to roll over when its driver lost control.
In addition to the honey, the truck was leaking diesel fuel as it had just refueled. [more]

Total Catastrophe For U.S. Corn Production: Only 30% Of U.S. Corn Fields Have Been Planted – 5 Year Average Is 66%
ReplyDeletehttp://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/total-catastrophe-for-u-s-corn-production-only-30-of-u-s-corn-fields-have-been-planted-5-year-average-is-66
2019 is turning out to be a nightmare that never ends for the agriculture industry. Thanks to endless rain and unprecedented flooding, fields all over the middle part of the country are absolutely soaked right now, and this has prevented many farmers from getting their crops in the ground. I knew that this was a problem, but when I heard that only 30 percent of U.S. corn fields had been planted as of Sunday, I had a really hard time believing it. But it turns out that number is 100 percent accurate. And at this point corn farmers are up against a wall because crop insurance final planting dates have either already passed or are coming up very quickly. In addition, for every day after May 15th that corn is not in the ground, farmers lose approximately 2 percent of their yield. Unfortunately, more rain is on the way, and it looks like thousands of corn farmers will not be able to plant corn at all this year. It is no exaggeration to say that what we are facing is a true national catastrophe.

This gets one part of the equation right (civilisation as a heat engine) but ignores the aerosol masking effect (or 'global dimming') which will mean that once industrial civilisation collapses temperatures will rise several degrees in a short period of the time because of the removal of aerosols that act as a kind of umbrella for solar radiation.

I don't think the two things would interact together. But obviously if you take one horrible thing and add it to another horrible thing, the net result is going to be worse than either horrible thing by itself.
DeleteAlso, radiation might kill off some extra stuff, and the ancient bacteria and archaea that emit hydrogen sulfide are extremophiles, so they'd tend to survive better than a lot of other life, and if radiation scours an area of life entirely, they'd be the first things to return.
We should've stuck with the agreement we had with Iran. They were keeping their part of the agreement. It wasn't perfect, but they were abiding by it, and we weren't on the brink of war. Worse than that, now the whole world knows that any agreement we make may be voided in four years or less. E.g., why make any deals with us at all? We can't be trusted.
[i agree, Mike. The powers that be don't want to suffer through having everyone out to get them, starvation and overheating, dehydration and disease, so it's their "if you won't play ball, i'll take my bat & ball and go home" mentality - suicide for everyone! And that's the same question i would have asked. You dryin' out down there?]

Found: 977,000 shoes, 373,000 toothbrushes on Cocos (Keeling) Islands
https://www.sott.net/article/413181-Found-977000-shoes-373000-toothbrushes-on-Cocos-Keeling-Islands
On the beaches of the tiny Cocos (Keeling) Islands, population 600, marine scientists found 977,000 shoes and 373,000 toothbrushes.
This included 414m pieces of plastic, weighing 238 tonnes.
"Islands such as these are like canaries in a coal mine and it's increasingly urgent that we act on the warnings they are giving us. Plastic pollution is now ubiquitous in our oceans, and remote islands are an ideal place to get an objective view of the volume of plastic debris now circling the globe," Lavers said.
"As a result of the growth in single-use consumer plastics, it's estimated there are now 5.25 trillion pieces of ocean plastic debris.
"The scale of the problem means cleaning up our oceans is currently not possible, and cleaning beaches once they are polluted with plastic is time consuming, costly, and needs to be regularly repeated as thousands of new pieces of plastic wash up each day." [more]
