Event Update For 2018-04-29

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

US Army admits that it secretly dispersed germs in 239 locations across America, exposing many thousands of unsuspecting citizens
    https://www.sott.net/article/384340-US-Army-admits-that-it-secretly-dispersed-germs-in-239-locations-across-America-exposing-many-thousands-of-unsuspecting-citizens

The U.S. Army has admitted that it secretly conducted at least 239 germ warfare tests in locations across the country, targeting unsuspecting Americans.

While the United States government claims to be horrified every time there are reports of a chemical attack that was allegedly carried out by the Syrian government, history serves as a reminder that the U.S. is responsible for carrying out a number of chemical attacks on thousands of unsuspecting Americans, and some of the innocent victims are still suffering from the effects today.

In 1977, the U.S. Army admitted that it secretly conducted at least 239 germ warfare tests in the open air in cities across the country between 1949 and 1969. The areas where the lethal germs were simulated on the public were typically in major cities such as Washington D.C., San Francisco, New York City, Key West and Panama City, according to a report the Army submitted to the Senate Health Subcommittee.

In the [lying, bullshit] report, the Army insisted that the purpose of the tests was to study how biological warfare affects the public, in case it needs to defend against it. Calling tests "essential," the Army claimed it needed to "substantiate theories and fill knowledge gaps and to determine vulnerability to attack."

"The Army listed 27 times that it tested simulated toxins on public property, including releasing spores in two tunnels on a stretch of Pennsylvania Turnpike. [more; my brackets]

Pets are equally at risk. Eating or even sniffing the pests could result in illness in cats and dogs, with symptoms including hyper-salivation, tongue swelling, gagging, breathing problems and mouth inflammation.

This is the terrifying moment a massive swell has knocked three children off rocks in Western Australia’s south west, forcing a desperate scramble to safety. Footage shows the wave at Wyadup, near Yallingup, taking the children by surprise. The trio can then be seen scrambling for safety before another wave hits, knocking them down again. The force caused one of them to slip between the rocks.

Why More Carbon Dioxide May Not Lead to More-Productive Crops
    https://www.sierraclub.org/sierra/why-more-carbon-dioxide-may-not-lead-more-productive-crops

Some researchers have argued that there’s a potential upside to climate change: Increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide could be a veritable buffet for plants, they say. One recent study indicated that increases in CO2 concentrations could boost the productivity and water-use efficiency of crops like wheat and rice and even help trees, offsetting some effects of expected increases in temperature and droughts. But a new long-range study published in the journal Science is flipping those slightly rosy predictions on their head—CO2 may not boost crops in the long run and may cause weeds to get even stronger. Remember when the Fed raised interest rates 17 times in a row back in 2005-2007 thus imploding the housing bubble? That's what they're doing right now. The difference is that today the sheeple are in mass denial, so everyone is too busy pretending it's not happening, to object.

    Ah, good times.

Below, this consumer credit delinquency data from the Fed's own website is seven months old. In the meantime, short-term rates have marched relentlessly higher. So borrowing a trick from the EconoDunce profession, I have extrapolated delinquencies into the future, meaning now. What we notice is that even if I don't extrapolate, the absolute value of delinquencies is at mid-2008 levels. Extrapolation gets us to Lehman level delinquency rates.

    [further down]
The difference [between now and 2008] of course is that this time around the Fed is considering increasing their late cycle tightening, not decreasing it. [more; my brackets]

  7. That Collapse You Ordered…?
    http://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/9192/

I had a fellow on my latest podcast [link], released Sunday, who insists that the world population will crash 90-plus percent from the current 7.6 billion to 600 million by the end of this century. Jack Alpert heads an outfit called the Stanford Knowledge Integration Lab (SKIL) which he started at Stanford University in 1978 and now runs as a private research foundation. Alpert is primarily an engineer.

At 600 million, the living standard in the USA would be on a level with the post-Roman peasantry of Fifth century Europe, but without the charm, since many of the planet’s linked systems — soils, oceans, climate, mineral resources — will be in much greater disarray than was the case 1,500 years ago. Anyway, that state-of-life may be a way-station to something more dire. Alpert’s optimal case would be a world human population of 50 million, deployed in three “city-states,” in the Pacific Northwest, the Uruguay / Paraguay border region, and China, that could support something close to today’s living standards for a tiny population, along with science and advanced technology, run on hydropower. The rest of world, he says, would just go back to nature, or what’s left of it. Alpert’s project aims to engineer a path to that optimal outcome. [more]

The dead zone in the Arabian Sea is now the world's biggest Oxygen Minimum Zone (OMZ). About the size of Scotland or Florida, the dead zone almost covers the entire Gulf of Oman, which borders Iran, Oman, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. [more]

Mayday: There's No Such Thing As Labour Day Anymore
    http://ponziworld.blogspot.com/2018/05/theres-no-such-thing-as-labour-day.html

    It's all rapacious criminality now...

Global capitalism failed because it exploited the hardest working people, made the vast majority insolvent, destroyed the planet, and put asinine amounts of fake wealth at risk.

    Otherwise it worked great.

We'll see which man-boys still have the brass to make excuses for this overwhelming disaster when it all explodes in their faces with unprecedented extreme dislocation. Because, "No con man saw that coming".

It turned everyone into a gambler. There's no way that average people should be investing in the stock market as a form of retirement. They might as well be playing Russian Roulette with their finances. Every cycle is the exact same - at the beginning the grasshoppers are fearful, but by the end they throw caution to the wind. Unfortunately, that's where this time is different, because forty-years of chicanery later, and policy-makers have now found the global zero bound for interest rates. If 2008 was the front wall of the hurricane this is the back wall that takes down what is left. [more]

How Scott Pruitt Is Dismantling the EPA From the Inside
    http://observer.com/2018/04/scott-pruitt-donald-trump-cast-aside-protecting-the-environment-epa/

And yet, the sensational headlines about corruption only scratch the surface of what is happening to environmental protection and the service of the public interest at the EPA. Since the first heady days of the Trump administration—remember the parade of staged photo-ops for the president to look busy and decisive, signing executive order after executive order?—deconstruction of our proud legacy of science-based environmental protection has been Trump’s and Pruitt’s calling card. In practice, the corruption and cynical mendacity required to excuse it are the gateway to an EPA that actively undermines its own mission. [more]
