Event Update For 2017-11-12

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Fossil fuel emissions will reach an all-time high in 2017

There will plenty of fools like Robertscribbler, and some scientists I know of who will be unable to publically admit this basic truth.

Fossil fuel emissions will reach an all-time high in 2017, scientists say — dashing hopes of progress

Global carbon dioxide emissions are projected to rise again in 2017, climate scientists reported Monday, a troubling development for the environment and a major disappointment for those who had hoped emissions of the climate change-causing gas had at last peaked.

The emissions from fossil fuel burning and industrial uses are projected to rise by up to 2 percent in 2017, as well as to rise again in 2018 [and probably KEEP rising, since it's the planet's contribution now], the scientists told a group of international officials gathered for a United Nations climate conference in Bonn, Germany. 4. The question isn't really whether burning natural gas is good for the climate, or better than coal. If you step back and look at the 'goings on' happening with this planet - the coal seam fires and peat fires, the exploding methane craters, the ground belching hydrogen sulfide in two spots so far in Canada, the 'foul smells' blowing in off the oceans, the huge fires everywhere - then it becomes clear that the Earth is itself going to burn all of this stuff. So the question isn't whether it gets burned, by us or the Earth, but whether it's better (e.g. do we last longer) if we burn it, or if the Earth burns it? Also, the longer we leave that stuff available to the Earth, the more of it's going to end up turning into hydrogen sulfide.

That kinda changes everything. Logically then, the most reasonable lifespan-buying thing we can do is to extract everything we can get our hands on before the Earth burns it or belches it into the atmosphere. It'd be best if we could just shoot it all into space, but since that's not possible, then all we CAN do is burn it, and get some energy and 'global-dimming' out of it as we do. That might buy us a little time - a few years. Maybe it's already bought us those few years. We could be in 'overtime' right now.

So, I'm not complaining too much anymore when I see them gobbling up energy to dredge up that sh#tty tarsands stuff. I guess that's better than watching it eventually ignite and burn right where it is while we get nothing out of it except respiratory problems.

I know that seems counter-intuitive. I'm something of a 'green' guy myself. But reality being what it is, with the situation completely out of control, we're down to choosing between bad choices and even worse choices. The days of good choices are in the past.
