Event Update For 2019-08-29

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Good morning Jonny, Fran, Mike D., Tom N., LL, Terry, FezzedOne, Panther and any other readers of JJFH here this morning on sleep-in Saturday.

Dorian is turning into a real threat to FL, possibly more east coast states over the coming week.

The cyanobacteria spread continues, and wildfires aren't slowing down either, with another one linked below.

It's rare when even 1 superyacht goes up in flames, we have 3 here today!

Reading this blog let's one know exactly how dangerous it is to drive. You could be driving along, observing the speed limit, and suddenly a tractor trailer in the opposite lane comes crashing through the "barrier" between the opposing roadways, smashes into you and others as it careens wildly across the road, and you're dead! But it's more than that. Say you're working your shift at the Dairy Queen, when suddenly an SUV out on the highway, veers wildly into another SUV, and like billiard balls, forces the hit vehicle into your building! Jeez! Or it could be YOU driving along and suddenly you black out and the next thing you know you're in a flaming car, trying to get out, breathing smoke, up against a tree or into a building, with no recollection of how you got there. If you're lucky, you get out alive.

There is FRAUD in the reporting on the Arctic sea
    http://robinwestenra.blogspot.com/2019/08/there-is-fraud-in-reporting-on-arctic.html

This is a case of data being used to HIDE reality rather than shine a light on it.

Whereas the world media has had quite a lot to say about the record melting in Greenland there has been silence about the disastrous melt of the Arctic sea ice.

As in previous years, after a fierce melting during July once again we are seeing a reversal of the trend in August.

Or according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center in any case. [more; with lots of links]

Dorian becomes a Category 4 monster powering toward Florida
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/florida-preps-absolute-monster-storm-050931796.html

Hurricane Dorian powered toward Florida with increasing fury Friday, becoming an "extremely dangerous" Category 4 storm but leaving forecasters uncertain whether it would make a direct hit on the state's east coast or inflict a glancing blow.

The storm's winds rose to 130 mph (215 kph) and then, hours later, to a howling 140 mph (225 kph) as Dorian gained strength while crossing warm Atlantic waters. The hurricane could wallop the state with even higher winds and torrential rains late Monday or early Tuesday, with millions of people in the crosshairs, along with Walt Disney World and President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.

Though Dorian is growing in intensity, some of the more reliable computer models predicted a late turn northward that would have Dorian hug the coast, the National Hurricane Center said. [more]

INTERVIEW-Ocean treaty needed to tackle 'deep trouble', says UN envoy
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/interview-ocean-treaty-needed-tackle-070000142.html

The world's seas are increasingly threatened by global warming, acidification and pollution, making it crucial to agree on a global treaty to protect them, the U.N. oceans envoy said.

Peter Thomson warned in an interview with the Thomson Reuters Foundation that the oceans were "in deep trouble".

"It is worse than we think and there are no easy solutions," he said at World Water Week in Stockholm this week, as the latest round of talks on a treaty wound up in New York.

The first global ocean treaty is due to be agreed in the first half of 2020. But on Friday environmental group Greenpeace said the negotiations were "disappointing" so far, blaming a lack of political will to secure a "progressive outcome".[more; a) too late, 2) fat chance all countries will agree; and iii) we haven't stopped polluting it and won't]

Brace for food wars: science writer issues warning to world
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/brace-food-wars-science-writer-105114356.html

The world must act now to avoid conflict over food, land and water spreading from hot spots such as Syria to power centres like London and New York, according to a top science writer.

"We think supermarkets will always be full of food… But the world only has about three months supply of grain in store at any one time," said Cribb.

The world's food systems are coming under increasing strain from a combination of climate change, water scarcity and soil and biodiversity loss, he said.

Yet if harvests were to fail in a major grain-growing region, prices of grain and bread would spike, he said.

"Supermarkets can be emptied in 24 hours, if people panic. We are far closer to hunger than most of us suspect," said Cribb, whose book 'Food or War', published by the Cambridge University Press, comes out in October. [more]

'World's Chillest Man' Doesn't Let Armed Robber Kill His Buzz
    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/worlds-chillest-man-tony-tovar-st-louis-bar-234439536.html

A St. Louis bar patron is being called the “world’s chillest man” for the unfazed way he dealt with an armed robber on Monday.

Tony Tovar was at a neighborhood bar called Behrmanns when a gunman entered. The robber demanded all the customers and staff get on the ground and hand over their cash and phones, according to NBC News.

However, Tovar didn’t flinch or do much of anything else.

Surveillance video obtained by “Inside Edition” shows Tovar continuing to sit at the bar, sipping his beer and checking his phone.

Tovar didn’t even flinch when the gunman stuck a weapon into his side and tried to grab his phone. Instead, he pulled it back and then calmly lit a cigarette.

“I wasn’t really concerned,” Tovar told local station KSDK-TV. “I just had a really good feeling he wasn’t out to harm anybody. He just wanted drug money.” [more]

  4. About Dorian, I saw a couple of stories saying it could veer north then spiral away from the coast. I remember a hurricane a couple of years ago that did exactly that. I'm not saying it will do that, and I'm not saying it won't - I don't know, and I don't think it's easy to make those predictions even for professionals. If I were in Florida, I guess I'd go by the old rule of thumb: hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Either way, we'll know soon enough how it shakes out.

    1. The latest consensus for now is that it will almost come ashore near W. Palm Beach as a Cat 4, then track north right along the coast line all the way up to Georgia and even South Carolina. If this happens then it will be like a huge bulldozer taking out the beaches of east Florida, as well as the communities near them. But, of course this is a very fluid situation and the modeling will change all the way up until late Monday or early Tuesday.

      Delete
    2. Seems to me that that could be the absolute worst scenario. Then it could hit the entire coastline with hurricane-force winds and storm surges while still sucking energy off the water and maintaining some or all of its strength. A direct hit where it just blows across Florida and weakens as it goes might actually be better than that.

In the doghouse: Canine car crash culprit caught behind the wheel
    https://www.sott.net/article/419567-In-the-doghouse-Canine-car-crash-culprit-caught-behind-the-wheel

A dog's ruff ride has gone viral after he crashed his owner's car into a wall after being left unattended inside the vehicle, and was pictured behind the wheel at the scene of the crime.

Duke the dog was left alone in his owner's Mercedes in Aptos, San Francisco, and managed to get his leash stuck on the gear shift. As the canine moved around in the front of the vehicle, the leash pulled the car into neutral, sending it rolling backwards down the street, where it came to a stop after smashing into a retaining wall, taking out a mailbox and some trash cans on its way.

Luckily, Duke wasn't injured in the smash, and police aren't looking for new leads at this time. [more]

Hurricane Dorian changes course, strengthens to Category 4
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/puerto-rico-braces-hit-tropical-storm-dorian-133659477.html

Monstrous Hurricane Dorian changed course slightly on Saturday and put itself on a possible track to hit the Carolinas rather than Florida as previously forecast, after a dangerous blast through the Bahamas.

Meteorologists said Dorian has grown into an extremely dangerous Category 4 storm as it heads toward land with great potential for destruction.

"There's been a notable change overnight to the forecast of #Dorian after Tuesday," the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Twitter.

Dorian will keep moving westward through the weekend but is then forecast to turn northward, towards Georgia and the Carolinas, as it approaches the east coast of Florida early next week, the center said. [more; turn and go out to sea!]

The Trump Administration Has a Multi-Pronged Strategy to Make the Planet Uninhabitable
    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/trump-administration-multi-pronged-strategy-211600744.html

    From Esquire

If you ever wondered what it would look like for someone to go Jim Jones on the human race, look no further than the United States of America in the Year of Our Lord 2019. People who study this kind of thing believe we have to cut our heat-trapping emissions in half by 2030 to stand a chance of staving off the worst effects of the climate crisis, and avoid the feedback loops that will send the issue beyond our control. Believe it or not, however, the administration of Donald Trump, American president, is not proving particularly helpful in this regard.

While the Fox News Grandpa has periodic spasms of insanity on Twitter and the White House lawn, the termites of the state his regime has ushered into power are hard at work dismantling regulations aimed at curbing our climate emissions. The latest example arrived Thursday courtesy of the New York Times.

The Trump administration laid out on Thursday a far-reaching plan to cut back on the regulation of methane emissions, a major contributor to climate change.

The Environmental Protection Agency, in its proposed rule, aims to eliminate federal requirements that oil and gas companies install technology to detect and fix methane leaks from wells, pipelines and storage facilities. It will also reopen the question of whether the E.P.A. even has the legal authority to regulate methane as a pollutant. [more]

  10. I am looking at Ventusky's projection of Dorian and if it ends up being correct then the area between Miami and W. Palm Beach will be majorly effed. It barely comes onshore and straddles the coast line and then barely moves for a long time. Almost a day before moving north finally. In the past I've noted that Ventusky isn't 100% accurate, but it's pretty good over all.

  11. Good catch, Panther! Yeah, scientists are sooooo sloooow, at least about this. I mean glacially slow. I don't know why that is, but it is the case. Still, just like I said would inevitably happen, they continue to creep closer to what I've been saying all along.

What they should have done 7 or 8 years ago is aggressively attack JJFH. That's what you do in science, attack theories. The correct ones survive, the incorrect ones are eliminated. It sounds brutal, but that's the way it works, and I would not have been offended in any way if they had done that, since I understand that the goal is to root out fallacious theories. They could and should still do that. But I guess they haven't even caught up enough yet, after all this time, for that to happen.

A few people in the beginning tried to attack ME, personally. That's not science, attacking the messenger. But that backfired and blew up in their face, so they quit trying that, and most people have since pretty much just ignored everything I've said.
