Event Update For 2020-04-30
http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html
The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.
A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

A new report claims billions worldwide, nearly 70% of people aged between 1-49 were living with herpes up to 2016 and there is no cure. Most had oral infection but nearly 200 million had genital infection
http://www.thebigwobble.org/2020/05/a-new-report-claims-billions-worldwide.html
About half a billion people worldwide are living with genital herpes, and several billion have an oral herpes infection, new estimates show, highlighting the need to improve awareness and scale-up services to prevent and treat herpes. About 13% of the world’s population aged 15 to 49 years were living with herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) infection in 2016, the latest year for which data is available. HSV-2 is almost exclusively sexually transmitted, causing genital herpes. Infection can lead to recurring, often painful, genital sores in up to a third of people infected. Brazil, which has a population of more than 209 million, has reported more than 91,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and at least 6,300 deaths from the virus.
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has downplayed the virus for weeks and even encouraged protesters calling for state-issued lockdowns to be lifted.
The country has yet to hit its peak in COVID-19 cases, and experts worry that the case count and death toll could be much higher than reported. [more]

EPA's decision not to reduce fine particle air pollution contradicts science and the law
ReplyDeletehttps://www.yahoo.com/news/epas-decision-not-reduce-fine-182716129.html
The COVID-19 pandemic and economic shutdown have temporarily produced clearer skies across the U.S. Meanwhile, however, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been busy finding reasons not to pursue long-lasting air quality gains.
On April 30, 2020, the agency published a proposed new rule that retains current National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Particulate Matter without any revisions. It took this action after a five-year review process, in which scientific evidence showed unequivocally that these standards are not adequate to protect public health. [more]
Record-challenging heat to scorch the south-central US
https://www.yahoo.com/news/record-challenging-heat-scorch-south-102628294.html
"The same pattern that caused summerlike heat to build along the California coast and sent thousands to area beaches has shifted eastward, allowing temperatures to climb over a large part of the central U.S. into this weekend," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.
The major atmospheric influence on this prolonged, unseasonably hot pattern for the southwestern and south-central U.S. is the position of the jet stream. A northward bulge in the jet stream over the southwestern U.S. during much of the latter half of April allowed warmth to build significantly over the area by confining any cooler, moist air to the Pacific Northwest. Polar ice lost in last 16 years could fill Lake Michigan
https://www.yahoo.com/news/polar-ice-lost-last-16-185023016.html
Antarctica and Greenland have lost thousands of gigatons of ice in the last 16 years alone. According to new data from NASA, that ice melt has contributed to more than half an inch of sea level rise around the world.
Collectively, Antarctica and Greenland lost more than 5,000 gigatons of ice over the last decade and a half — more than enough to fill Lake Michigan. One gigaton is the equivalent of one billion metric tons, which could fill 400,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools alone, NASA said in a press release.[more; oh it's GOT to be because GSM and mini-Ice Age]
Seagulls in Rome take to killing rats and pigeons as lockdown deprives them of food scraps
https://www.yahoo.com/news/seagulls-rome-killing-rats-pigeons-144133445.html
Deprived of the juicy scraps left by bars and restaurants that they normally gorge on, Rome's notoriously aggressive seagulls have become cold-blooded killers.
Two months into Italy’s lockdown and with trattorias and cafes all closed, the big gulls are now killing rats and pigeons on the mean streets of the capital.
“They are going back to being predators,” said Bruno Cignini, a zoologist from the capital’s Rome University Tor Vergata.
“They are catching mostly pigeons but also swallows and black birds. They’re also going after fish in the Tiber. Luckily, they are also eating rats. [more]

Honeybees risk being wiped out by a disease that is sweeping Britain, scientists reveal
ReplyDeletehttps://www.yahoo.com/news/honeybees-risk-being-wiped-disease-130149057.html
Honeybees are at risk of being wiped out by a disease that is sweeping Britain, new research has found.
Chronic Bee Paralysis Virus (CBPV) causes trembling of wings and body and jumpiness which prevents flight, and also leads to loss of hair and rejection by healthy peers. It can contribute to the death of a whole colony and kills victims within a week.
The disease, fueled by the introduction of queen bees from across Europe, was primarily only recorded in Lincolnshire. By 2017, it was present in 39 of 47 English and six of eight Welsh counties. [more]
