The samurai machine carries out hard-angled cuts with speed and precision - without breaking sweat.

Among the robot's most spectacular accomplishments is a party trick: being able to slice a runner bean lengthways.

The robot competed against renowned Japanese swordsman Isao Machii, from whom it learned how to fight by motion capturing his moves.

Machii can slice a fried shrimp fired at him at about 130 km per hour, according to The Independent, but he still lost his swordfight against the machine.

Robot arms, which have truly amazing skills, have recently entered the spotlight: one beat a world table tennis champion in March, while Russian military robots scored high at a shooting challenge a month ago during field training.

In April, a UK company unveiled a robo-chef capable of preparing meals from scratch.

Tom

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-73534637094694652502015-06-06T07:50:01.862-05:002015-06-06T07:50:01.862-05:00Parts of Europe see hottest day of the year so far...Parts of Europe see hottest day of the year so far in early-season heat wave
https://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/parts-of-europe-see-hottest-day-of-the-year-so-far-in-early-season-heat-wave/

Heat wave coming to Vancouver – city braces for “rare” early bout of record high temperatures
https://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/heat-wave-coming-to-vancouver-city-braces-for-rare-early-bout-of-record-high-temperatures/

Insane heat wave in Alaska put temperatures higher than in Arizona
https://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/insane-heat-wave-in-alaska-put-temperatures-higher-than-in-arizona/

Heat wave spreads from Pakistan to the Gulf
https://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/heat-wave-spreads-from-pakistan-to-the-gulf/

[this is some back-story on that huge collapsed ship recently in Chinese waters]

he ship, the Eastern Star, capsized in a storm on Monday and was turned upright in an operation on Friday.

Just 14 of the 456 passengers and crew are known to have survived. There's too mu...Oh man, Jonny - what a report. There's too much to even comment on!

First off - your consistency in discovering all this stuff BY ITSELF is remarkable. Putting it into a first class page with verifiable links to each story (many with MULTIPLE links) is exceptional, sir. Your stories don't even make the mainstream news, in many cases [in other words, they're confined to local markets only, with local tv or paper the only mention - and little if any is followed up on - but they never see national or world-wide circulation], and would take forever for anyone to try to find them on their own, so it's a rare privilege to find a site such as this.

So MUCHO SCRATCHY-ASS, amigo!

Looks like a bunch coming in today too, Jonny, but i'll get to that later.

The lede vehicle fires are NORMAL, now - they come in every day. Parked, moving, crashing, shit - JUST TRACTOR TRAILERS (and remember Jonny only lists conservative estimates in many instances) we're up to almost 6 a day!

Then we move to the deteriorating electrical grid, with explosions in underground cabinets, utility poles bursting into flame, wires suddenly burning, and more - it's only a matter of time before this (and all) electronic communication fails, people.
i hope everyone understands where we're headed.

Then we get the scrap cars burning, landfills burning - in some cases they can't seem to completely extinguish them - and other, once non-flammable, things like concrete, now burning. And this is before we even mention the climate related stuff, all the animal attacks (including insects, pets, wild animals, bees and birds, etc.), super storms, huge die-offs, flooding and drought situations, and the like. How about a 35,000 sq. km algal bloom? ["Kinda ruins your week at the shore, done it?"]

That report regarding methane being found in the soil and under parking lots - that's only a local story because NOBODY ELSE HAS CHECKED YET. i'll bet that's really wide-spread, like under malls, schools, college campuses (esp. with all the dead students in their dorms we've seen this year), roadways, pretty much any paved areas. Holy SHIT! So now, you can just be walking along and in the time it takes to advance a single step or inhaling normally, over you go into the void.

It might be a blessing, considering what's on the way.

Tom

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
