They've happened numerous times. A couple of examples that come to mind: 1) two boats went up in flames within 3 minutes in separate marinas in Washington DC; and 2) an SUV burst into flame while parked at a home in the wee hours and at the same time the doorbell burst into flame at the home next door. There've been lots of these kinds of events, but those two were so obviously not coincidences and so bizarre that they stuck in my mind. And in each of these double events the ONLY thing that COULD connect them is the atmosphere. Ergo, we've got a problem with the atmosphere.Jonny Mnemonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06516458612879773986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-28110898224538025482018-06-04T20:28:08.350-05:002018-06-04T20:28:08.350-05:00testingtestingTomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02819564675299071481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-47741951032081210232018-06-04T18:30:19.978-05:002018-06-04T18:30:19.978-05:00So far in Austin our hottest day has been 101, but...So far in Austin our hottest day has been 101, but all last week was 99 and 100 with it still being about 90 at 10 PM and later. Other parts of the State have been even hotter. I have a feeling that we'll be seeing 105 and higher by mid July. On a regular basis....that is. One was on Hwy 183 while the other was on Research Blvd. At first I thought Jonny made a mistake and reported the same event twice because Hwy 183 and Research Blvd are one and the same. But then I took a closer look and they were indeed two different events and.........get this......they were less than 2 miles from one another!!

One was on 183 on the overpass above Burnet Rd. The other, listed as Research Blvd, was near Hwy 360. The latter was probably on the frontage road of 183 because I think officially they consider the frontage road to still be Research Blvd for address purposes.

That's pretty wild to say the least. Two auto fires on the same day so close together. But, that is all we got in far south Austin. Not much wind or rain. But north Austin and the suburbs up there experienced damaging winds that were almost hurricane strength in bursts. And near Pflugerville experienced some pferocious storm activity with a rain bomb of 5.5 inches in less than an hour. And to the west northwest of Austin near Spicewood had a rain bomb of just over 6 inches.

Of course this is now the norm for the end times.
