Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity’s annual demand on nature exceeds what Earth can regenerate in that year. Earth Overshoot Day has moved from early October in 2000 to August 13th this year.

The costs of this ecological overspending are becoming more evident by the day, in the form of deforestation, drought, fresh-water scarcity, soil erosion, biodiversity loss and the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The latter will significantly amplify the former, if current climate models are correct.

46 million Americans go to food banks, and long lines for dwindling food supplies begin at 6:30 AM
http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/46-million-americans-go-to-food-banks-and-long-lines-for-dwindling-food-supplies-begin-at-630-am

[this is what i'm always going on about - if JJFH doesn't get us first, this will be the one that turns civilization upside down; scary read]

i grow squash, cucumbers, etc. and donate a bunch to the local food pantry here in PA. That was a gas plume igniting with a small explosion, which burned his lawn. Imagine if one of those goes off on your home - your home will ignite. Or if it happens out in the middle of nowhere then you get a wildfire. Or if it happens at a chemical or explosives warehouse at a port in China then you might get a gigantic explosion. This is probably happening all over now but as time goes on, it'll happen more and more. A lot of homes have been burning down with nobody there, but nearby people say the fires started with 'popping sounds' or an explosion - same thing.Jonny Mnemonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06516458612879773986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-46909813103432820322015-08-13T12:28:13.925-05:002015-08-13T12:28:13.925-05:00Toxic fumes up to half a kilometer away detected f...Toxic fumes up to half a kilometer away detected from Tianjin blast area
http://www.sott.net/article/300118-Toxic-fumes-up-to-half-a-kilometer-away-detected-from-Tianjin-blast-area

Sulfur oxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide, all products of combustion, have been found in the air, Xinhua reported.
