And saw some unknown insects in the garden this year, that I'd never seen before. And then there's all the bedbug problems that sprang up in the last 2-3 years, and the locust plagues in Madagascar and around the Red Sea. If those giant hornets get to the US, I'm gonna be scared - those things are just insane! Insects have survived harsh extinction events before and I have no doubt that they'll do better than most forms of life this time too. Looks like they're already adapting now. Spiders seem to be doing fine too, probably because of all the insects available to eat, and fewer birds and bats eating them too.<br />Jonny Mnemonichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06516458612879773986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-71820428157290539132013-10-16T22:57:09.566-05:002013-10-16T22:57:09.566-05:00"Insect problems are already on the rise too,..."Insect problems are already on the rise too, as the birds and bats die off. The biosphere has begun to warp and spasm..."<br /><br /> This year was the worst in Wisconsin that I have ever experienced. In the Spring there were swarms of gnats (or similar bugs) that I would constantly be encountering when I rode my 10-speed. It was impossible not to breathe some of them in. Also, during August (mostly) I kept on waking up with very serious bug bites on my face, arms & sometimes legs (if they weren't kept under the covers). These bites were like mosquito bites but much more severe and they took a few weeks to recover from (both the bite marks themselves & the ill way I felt after being bit). Daily I had to squeeze the toxin out of each bite & then put antibiotic salve on them. I must have been bitten 20-30 times over the course of a month (it happened during the peak heat time-frame) but since it was while I slept I'll never know what type of insect(s) actually bit me. If those were mosquitos that bit me then they were on steroids! So far we are luckier than China but it is probably just matter of time before the giant killer wasps & hornets make their way to the USA!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-18878735250377347152013-10-16T22:27:25.993-05:002013-10-16T22:27:25.993-05:00BTW, there is a pallet company named Marplex in Rh...BTW, there is a pallet company named Marplex in Rhinelander, WI so it's probably just a matter of time before it makes the news here Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-50818902349368367572013-10-16T22:22:57.312-05:002013-10-16T22:22:57.312-05:00from Wikipedia:
