Event Update For 2019-10-29

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

What In The World Is The Federal Reserve Thinking???
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/what-in-the-world-is-the-federal-reserve-thinking

You don’t use up all of your ammunition before the battle even begins. The U.S. economy has not even officially entered recession territory yet, although many experts are definitely anticipating one in 2020. When that recession arrives, the Federal Reserve is going to want as much ammunition to fight it as possible. So I was horrified to learn that the Federal Reserve announced on Wednesday that interest rates are being slashed once again. We have now had three interest rate cuts in 2019 as the Federal Reserve desperately attempts to revive the stalling U.S. economy. But what are they going to do during the next recession when they have already pushed interest rates all the way to the floor and they can’t push them any lower? In addition, in recent days the Federal Reserve has decided to absolutely flood the financial system with new money in a desperate attempt to stabilize the repo market. In essence, the Federal Reserve has launched a massive new round of quantitative easing even before a major crisis has erupted on Wall Street. I can understand trying to be proactive, but in reality quantitative easing is an extreme emergency measure that should only be used in the most desperate of situations. If the Fed is creating this much new money now, what are they going to do once things really get bad? Are we destined to become the next Venezuela? [more]

Theft as virtue: US regime 'justifies' the stealing Syria's oil
    https://www.sott.net/article/423011-Theft-as-virtue-US-regime-justifies-the-stealing-Syrias-oil

On October 26th, the New York Times headlined "Keep the Oil': Trump Revives Charged Slogan for New Syria Troop Mission" and opened by saying that "in recent days, Mr. Trump has settled on Syria's oil reserves as a new rationale for appearing to reverse course and deploy hundreds of additional troops to the war-ravaged country." They closed with a statement from Bruce Riedel, retired from the CIA: "'Let's say he does do it,' Mr. Riedel said. 'Let's say we establish the precedent that we are in the Middle East to take the oil. The symbolism is really bad.'" The propaganda-value of a 'news'-report is concentrated in its opening, and especially in what the 'reporter' (fulfilling the intentions of his editors) selected to be at the very end (such as Riedel's statement). However, is what's wrong with taking Syria's oil actually the "symbolism," as Riedel said, or is it instead the theft — the reality (and why did the NYT pretend that it's the latter)? Nowhere did that NYT article use the word "theft," or anything like it, but that is the actual issue here — not mere 'symbolism'. [more]

On the absurdity of the Neocons' Syrian oil fairy tale
    https://www.sott.net/article/423017-On-the-absurdity-of-the-Neocons-Syrian-oil-fairy-tale

Is the US really keeping US troops in Syria and sending M1 Abrams tanks (or other mechanized vehicles) and several hundred additional soldiers to Syria to keep the "bad guys" from reaping this paltry $1 million/day "windfall"? In this case, the bad guys are: what remains of a degraded ISIS after Baghdadi's demise; the lawful Syrian Assad government; Russia as the country that holds contractual rights to Syrian oil; and all-round villain Iran. The insignificant amount of money to be gained by the US garnering the Deir ez-Zor region's oil production is far less than the costs US taxpayers will incur for deploying and sustaining 30 or so fuel-guzzling armored vehicles and at least 400 soldiers (not to mention the requisite air support, quick-response backup teams, med-evac capability, intelligence, security, life support, etc.) at a remote desert location along the Euphrates River in southern Syria.
