Event Update For 2019-09-30

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

  1. Starting the day reading JJFH is the most important news one can find. On your way to work, realize at any moment a car, truck, pick-up, SUV, bus or other vehicle can swerve across multiple lanes and smash into to you before you even have a chance to react. Even worse, YOU can have a "medical episode" and smash into guardrails, medians, other vehicles, buildings, trees, power poles, fences, open fields, ditches or water sources. You could be behind a car hauler, bus, dump truck, tractor trailer or other vehicle (including FIRE TRUCK or AMBULANCE) and have big problems as a result.

It just ain't safe out there anymore.

But neither is it safe at home minding your own business, since homes explode now, fires routinely start for no apparent reason and people just drop dead too.

Typhoon "Mitag" about slam into South Korea, residents warned to take extra precautions against landslides and flooding
    https://watchers.news/2019/10/02/typhoon-mitag-about-slam-into-south-korea-residents-warned-to-take-extra-precautions-against-landslides-and-flooding/

After lashing Taiwan and parts of eastern China with heavy rains and strong winds, Typhoon "Mitag" is now approaching southern South Korea. Landfall is expected around 12:00 UTC on October 2, with maximum sustained winds of 90 km/h (58 mph) and very heavy rain. After exiting into the Sea of Japan on October 3, Mitag will head towards Japan where it is expected to make landfall on October 4.

Mitag is expected to have a stronger influence on the country than Tapah, which left at least 3 people dead, because it will 'come directly over us,' an official with the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said. [more]

A U.S. Economic Slowdown Has Been Confirmed, And We Are Being Warned That “More Damage” Is Ahead
    http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/a-u-s-economic-slowdown-has-been-confirmed-and-we-are-being-warned-that-more-damage-is-ahead

We just witnessed the worst month for U.S. manufacturers in more than 10 years, and nobody seems optimistic that things are going to get much better any time soon. In fact, one expert is warning that “more damage” is coming if the trade war is not resolved, and unfortunately it does not appear that a resolution will be possible for the foreseeable future. As I have been detailing for months, the entire global economy has been steadily slowing down, but some shocking new numbers that we just got indicate that our economic problems are really starting to accelerate. So hold on to your hats, because it looks like things are about to get really crazy.

A Winnipeg man says he is lucky to be alive after suffering severe bites from a bear that attacked him three times near his cottage in northwestern Ontario.

Dave Schwab, who is 69, says he was finishing his walk near Kenora last Thursday when he spotted a black bear about 100 metres ahead of him in some bushes.

Schwab, an experienced hiker, says he made noise and the bear seemed to walk away, but it didn't leave the area and started following him before it attacked and bit his thigh and arm.

A kick to the bruin's belly scared the animal away but it came at him twice more, only this time Schwab fended it off by clubbing it on the snout with a birch log and his foot. [more]

Due to crowning, extreme fire behavior, and rapid growth a Type 1 Team has been ordered

Firefighters have been herding around the Decker Fire that has been burning since September 8 five miles south of Salida, Colorado. (see map) But 16 percent relative humidity and strong winds gusting out of the south at over 40 mph Tuesday afternoon caused the fire to spread toward the north and northeast. Late Tuesday afternoon a very large plume of smoke could be seen by a satellite moving northeast in the general direction of Denver 95 miles to the northeast.

A mapping flight Monday night determined that the fire had burned 2,206 acres. [more]

Antarctica now has more than 65,000 'meltwater lakes' as summer ice melts
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/antarctica-now-more-65-000-114912114.html

During the Antarctic summer, thousands of mesmerising blue lakes form around the edges of the continent’s ice sheet, as warmer temperatures cause snow and ice to melt and collect into depressions on the surface. Colleagues of mine at Durham University have recently used satellites to record more than 65,000 of these lakes.

Though seasonal meltwater lakes have formed on the continent for decades, lakes had not been recorded before in such great numbers across coastal areas of East Antarctica. This means parts of the world’s largest ice sheet may be more vulnerable to a warming climate than previously thought. [more]

US Shale Production Is Set For A Steep Decline
    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/us-shale-production-set-steep-230000292.html

U.S. oil production fell in July, another worrying sign for the shale industry.

The latest EIA data shows that oil output fell sharply in July, dipping by 276,000 barrels per day. The decrease can be chalked up to outages related to a hurricane that forced oil companies to temporarily idle operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Offshore Gulf of Mexico production plunged by 332,000 bpd in July.

As a result, the dip in output might easily be dismissed as a one-off aberration. However, U.S. output has stagnated in 2019, ending several years of explosive shale growth. Compared to December 2018, total U.S. production was only up 44,000 in June 2019, which essentially means that despite heady forecasts and lots of hype, U.S. shale has plateaued this year. [more]

Four European Union nations will seek endorsement next week from their EU partners for a "fast-track system" for getting migrants off boats in trouble in the Mediterranean Sea and distributing people aboard who want to seek asylum among countries willing to take them.

Germany, France, Italy and Malta want approval for a process that would screen migrants, relocate asylum-seekers and return people who don't apply or qualify, all within four weeks, according to a statement obtained by the civil liberties watchdog Statewatch. [more]

  5. Ocean plastic waste probably comes from ships, report says
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/ocean-plastic-waste-probably-comes-ships-report-says-082440608.html

Most of the plastic bottles washing up on the rocky shores of Inaccessible Island, aptly named for its sheer cliffs rising from the middle of the South Atlantic, probably come from Chinese merchant ships, a study published Monday said.

The study offers fresh evidence that the vast garbage patches floating in the middle of oceans, which have sparked much consumer hand-wringing in recent years, are less the product of people dumping single-use plastics in waterways or on land, than they are the result of merchant marine vessels tossing their waste overboard by the ton. [bullshit, countries are dumping their trash in the ocean - but that's slightly less problematic than Fukushima dumping radioactive wastewater and particles from the unrecovered cores in the ocean]

Farther out in the oceans, the garbage patches contain fragments of objects of unclear origin, as well as items used by cargo ships and fishing fleets: not just the bottles emptied by the ships' crews, but also nets, ropes, buoys, crates, barrels and floats. [more]

Teacher fired for refusing to use transgender student’s pronouns launches legal action
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/teacher-fired-refusing-transgender-student-092045677.html

A Virginia high school teacher has filed a lawsuit after being fired for refusing to use a transgender student’s pronouns, arguing he is being discriminated against for his faith.

Peter Vlaming, who worked as a French teacher at West Point High School, Virginia, said he would use the student’s chosen name – as well as a French equivalent they had picked out – after his parents revealed their son’s transition to the school.

However the teacher refused to refer to [HER] using male pronouns, while continuing to use female pronouns when talking about them to other students and members of staff.

The filing for Vlaming v West Point School board, which repeatedly refers to the student using female pronouns, adds: “It is Mr Vlaming’s sincerely held belief that referring to a female that referring to a female as male is untruthful and prohibited by his faith and conscience”.

his legal representation claims the government has forced Mr Vlaming “to express ideas about human nature, unrelated to the school’s curriculum, that he believes are false”, and to “take sides in an ongoing public debate about gender dysphoria”.

The complaint adds: “Defendants gave Mr Vlaming an ultimatum: use male pronouns for this female student or lose your job.

“Mr Vlaming could not violate his conscience, and it cost him his job”. [more]

    [United States of Bankruptcy]
40 States are now drowning in debt - just like the federal government
    https://www.sott.net/article/421343-40-States-are-now-drowning-in-debt-just-like-the-federal-government

As the United States government continues to pile up debt, most states are following in its footsteps. Total state government debt now stands at $1.49 trillion with 40 states lacking sufficient funds to pay their bills according to Truth in Accounting's (TIA) Financial State of the States report.

Unfunded pension liabilities are the primary factor driving the pileup of state debt. According to the report, "One of the ways states make their budgets look balanced is by shortchanging public pension and OPEB (another post-employment benefit) funds. This practice has resulted in an $824 billion shortfall in pension funds and a $664.6 billion shortfall in OPEB funds."

TIA Founder and CEO Sheila Weinberg said for many states, there is no easy way out of their fiscal mess. "Many of these state governments have no hope of achieving a budget recovery barring significant program cuts or tax hikes," said Weinberg. And don't expect any states to begin cutting back. Instead, you will be expected to pay for whatever the government demands in the form of higher taxes. Enjoy your freedom.[more]

The storm claimed the lives of two people in Oaxaca: a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy who were swept away by floodwaters while trying to cross rivers in the municipalities of San Pedro Mixtepec and San Jerónimo Coatlán respectively.

About 300 homes and at least 11 schools were damaged in the southern state as was the hospital in Tutupec, a municipality halfway between Puerto Escondido and Pinotepa Nacional.

At least nine rivers broke their banks, scores of trees fell, access to 47 Oaxaca municipalities was cut off and more than 800 people took refuge in shelters.

Federal transportation official Jaime López Carillo said that sections of three federal highways in Oaxaca collapsed due to heavy rain brought by Narda. [more]

Earthquake swarms impact Texas, Oklahoma, San Francisco and The New Madrid fault zone
    https://www.sott.net/article/421345-Earthquake-swarms-impact-Texas-Oklahoma-San-Francisco-and-The-New-Madrid-fault-zone

There is a whole lotta shaking going on in America right now, and many people are concerned about what that could potentially mean. Could it be possible that the U.S. is entering a more seismically active time? This week alone, we have seen earthquake swarms in Texas, Oklahoma, San Francisco and the New Madrid fault zone. Of course earthquakes happen every day, but to see so many earthquake swarms happen in such diverse places within such a compressed period of time is definitely unusual.

For those that don't know, southeastern Missouri sits right along the New Madrid fault zone, and in the early portion of the 19th century this part of the country was shaken by four of the largest earthquakes in U.S. history...[more]

[why not just dump 'em in the ocean?]

One wind farm in Glenrock and two from the Saratoga area have partnered with the Casper Regional Landfill to dispose of their old wind turbine blades.

More than 900 blades will be brought to the landfill beginning now until the end of next spring.

The Casper Solid Waste Manager, Cynthia Langston, said that though most turbine blades can be reused, there are some that are simply un-recyclable.

“Ninety percent of the turbines are completely reclaimed, recycled, and reused, but there is ten percent that is fiberglass, so those are coming to us from three different farms in the state.” [more]
