Event Update For 2019-09-10

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

The Suicide Rate In The U.S. Has Hit The Highest Level In 50 Years, And There Is Concern That It Will Go Much Higher

Despite the fact that more money is being spent on suicide prevention efforts than ever before in our history, the suicide rate in the United States continues to rise dramatically. As you will see below, one new study has discovered that our suicide rate actually increased by 41 percent between 1999 and 2016. Even though we have the highest standard of living that any generation of Americans has ever enjoyed, we are an exceedingly unhappy nation and we are killing ourselves in unprecedented numbers. This shouldn’t be happening, but unfortunately the forces that have taken over our culture have convinced multitudes of Americans that their lives are not worth living any longer. [more]

    http://www.fasterthanexpected.com/2019/09/10/a-vast-liquidation-of-public-lands-is-underway-in-alaska/

The Trump administration is quietly leading one of the largest liquidations of America’s public lands since the late 19th century. If fully implemented, this effort could result in the transfer, sale, or private exploitation of more than 28.3 million acres of public lands in Alaska, including old-growth forests, subsistence hunting areas for Alaska Native communities, habitats for polar bears, salmon spawning streams, and other backcountry areas. It would affect millions of acres in the Tongass National Forest and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge alone. [more]

The former president of Cobra Acquisitions, a company that secured $1.8 billion in federal contracts to repair Puerto Rico's destroyed power grid, was also arrested by the FBI, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

An indictment returned by a federal grand jury includes 15 charges against Ahsha Tribble and Jovanda Patterson, who were former FEMA officials, and Donald Keith Ellison, who was president of Cobra Acquisitions up until June.

A Justice Department statement said Tribble, who was FEMA deputy administrator of the region, and Ellison are alleged to have "developed a personal relationship wherein Ellison provided Tribble with things of value with the intent to influence Tribble's performance of official acts. Ellison provided Tribble with personal helicopter use, hotel accommodations, airfare, personal security services, and the use of a credit card."

Patterson was a FEMA deputy chief of staff assigned to San Juan from October 2017 to March 2018 before being hired by Cobra.

If found guilty, the defendants face sentences up to 5 years in prison for conspiracy, travel act violations, conflict of interest, and false statements and 30 years for honest services wire fraud and disaster fraud, according to the Justice Department. [more; pfff, cost of doing business]

Torrential rain that has been falling in Spain's Mediterranean area left two people dead today in Caudete, a municipality in Albacete, in the Valencia region. Although they were originally reported to be a married couple, the latest reports by government officials describe them as a brother and sister aged 61 and 51. The victims' car was dragged along by flooding, according to a tweet from the 112 emergency services.

A small tornado formed at around three in the morning on Dénia's Raset beach, in Alicante province, damaging the municipal sports center and ripping up trees, traffic signs and roofs. Winds of 104 kilometers per hour were recorded.

The rising waters of the Clariano river have also destroyed a 16th-century bridge in Aielo de Malferit (Valencia). The centuries-old structure "is completely gone," said the mayor, Juanra Espí. [more]

    https://www.sott.net/article/420285-College-student-struck-by-lightning-in-Kitty-Hawk-North-Carolina-has-died

A Columbia University student from Northern Virginia has died, weeks after being struck by lightning in Kitty Hawk.

Matt Summerill, 23, was swimming with friends Aug. 23 when he was struck in the back by a lightning bolt, according to police and a GoFundMe account set up to cover medical costs.

Summerill had been hospitalized at a trauma center in Greenville since the accident and in a medically-induced coma, the GoFundMe page said.

"He was in the water near shore, throwing a frisbee with two friends, when a lightning bolt came out of the clear blue sky and struck him in the lower back," organizer Cameron Blount wrote. "His two friends collected themselves and realized Matthew was facedown in the water. They took him to shore and started performing CPR, and the lifeguard rushed an oxygen tank to him right away. Medical services took over soon after and after over an hour of more CPR got him to where they could move him, but not in a HelEvac because by that point the storm had moved in." [more]

Coast Guard issues warning on charging phone batteries after California boat fire
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/coast-guard-issues-warning-charging-122450724.html

The Coast Guard has issued a safety bulletin following the California boat fire that killed 34 people, recommending commercial boat operators limit unsupervised charging of cellphones and other electronic devices.

A brief, preliminary report on the Labor Day fire that destroyed the dive ship Conception near Santa Cruz Island was issued Thursday by the National Transportation Safety Board, but it did not address the cause of the fire. The report did note that three crew members said they knew of no mechanical or electrical issues with the boat.

The report said that all six crew members were asleep when the fire broke out. Boats like the Conception, which caught fire around 3 a.m., are required to have a crew member keep watch at night.

The Coast Guard said it has convened a Marine Board of Investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. The bulletin noted it does not have to await the board's findings before taking "immediate and positive" action. [more]

Boat operators also should "reduce potential fire hazards and consider limiting the unsupervised charging of lithium-ion batteries and extensive use of power strips and extension cords," the bulletin said.

"The intensity of the fire surprised people," Peter Goelz, former managing director of the National Transportation Safety Board, told USA TODAY. "If it was being fed by lithium batteries, that might explain it." [more; BULLSHIT - how about a real propellant like CH4?]

Climate change is likely to put stress on our agricultural system and cause severe food shortages in the future.
Behavioral scientist Magnus Söderlund recently suggested that because of this, people might one day consider eating human flesh.

In 2018, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins put forth a similar idea. [more; WHOSE?]
