Event Update For 2019-02-15

http://jumpingjackflashhypothesis.blogspot.com/2012/02/jumping-jack-flash-hypothesis-its-gas.html

The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Because both gases are highly flammable and because our entire civilization is built around fire and flammable fuels, this is leading to more fires and explosions. This is an extinction level event and will likely decimate both the biosphere and human population and it is debatable whether humankind can survive this event.

A. More fires and more explosions, especially along the coasts, but everywhere generally.
B. Many more animal die-offs, of all kinds, and especially oceanic species.
C. More multiples of people will be found dead in their homes, as if they'd dropped dead.
D. More corpses found in low-lying areas, all over the world.
E. More unusual vehicular accidents.
F. Improved unemployment numbers as people die off.

Fisherman Brandon Graham, who took the photos, contacted FWC after finding multiple fish with the same sores during a fishing trip this past weekend."

'The mullet for example, which are usually very acrobatic, jumping all over the place, were swimming very slow. To the point where you could almost slap one with your hand.' Graham says the situation appeared to be worse this weekend. He took his boat out in the waters between Eastpoint and Carrabelle and says he noticed significantly less fish in the area."

  1. Hey Jonny, everyone - another day on the road to oblivion.

Lots of barns have been burning this past week.

i see there was a car fire in my ol' hometown on this day.

The (now) usual gas-caused evacuations of schools continues.

The authorities are still confused as to how people end up parked under water, or in snow-banks, or having plowed into buildings, trees or ditches. [hint: they probably died while driving]

Small planes having trouble staying aloft (or landing).

Boats and trains going up in flames.

Many vehicle accidents and fires, deadly building fires and people being found dead.

Let's see what's up for today.

Huge earthquake in Bolivia reveals vast underground mountain range BIGGER than anything on Earth’s surface

Classic sci-fi writer Jules Verne once imagined a whole subterranean landscape deep inside the planet, complete with lost prehistoric species and plant life. The book was aptly titled Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Now, a new research is revealing features in the underworld resembling structures on the surface. Far from a bubbling hot mess, there are mountains deep below rivaling anything up here… Yes, there’s a chance that these mountains are bigger than anything on the surface of the Earth… So taller than the Everest! Pink slime just reclassified as 'ground beef' by the USDA
    https://www.sott.net/article/407423-Pink-slime-just-reclassified-as-ground-beef-by-the-USDA

Nope, pink slime was basically the meat industry equivalent of the trimmings or scraps that are normally swept up and tossed in the trash, or into pet food - a collection of bits collected from the meat production process that is transformed into a filmy, translucent substance using a centrifuge, which is then treated with ammonia hydroxide gas and added to commercial ground beef, usually in fast food or school cafeterias.

Well, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), that slimy pink goo is actually ground beef.

In another case of big business getting the best of the legitimate concerns of consumers, South Dakota pink slime purveyors Beef Products Inc (BPI) have received the stamp of approval from the USDA to allow it to call the repulsive goo "ground beef."

The move to reclassify the slime from "lean finely textured beef" to "ground beef" was made in December, but also comes after a years-long effort by the industry to combat the fallout from the pink slime scandal - which resulted in a defamation lawsuit by BPI against ABC News that was settled in 2017 for about $177 million, the highest-ever sum in such a corporate lawsuit. And there was no mention of the major opioid addiction crisis crippling and killing tens of thousands of people in the U.S. and Europe, 5,6 or the iatrogenic medical error epidemic that every year claims more than 750,000 lives in Europe 7 and 250,000 lives in the U.S., where it is the third leading cause of death.^8 [more]

  4. Freedom Is Not Abdication Of Responsibility
    http://ponziworld.blogspot.com/2019/02/hell-to-pay_16.html

Reading a recent post by ludicrously arrogant climate duncer Mike Shedlock echoed a similar sentiment by George Orwell: "Freedom means the right to dissent with the majority, the right even to be persistently wrong".

Wrong. When presented with existential threat, this species no longer has the luxury to be persistently wrong. To be sure, several thousand years of being persistently wrong has led myriad fools to the same conclusion. Climate change is no longer some distant hypothetical that "might" afflict this planet decades from now, it manifests in the here and now in the form of biblical flooding, uncontrolled wildfires, monster hurricanes, and the fastest rate of species extinction in world history.

The financial costs alone of ever-increasing extreme weather events are racking up. For those who like to refute "hockey stick" charts, here is the inconvenient financial truth. The costliest hurricane seasons in the past two thirds of a century all came in the past fifteen years [see chart]

What Orwell and other previous philosophers feared most was attack from the outside. The external forces of fascism and communism. What they never imagined was the internal threat wrought by consumption self-destruction, brought about by Lost Boys carrying pigs' heads on a stick. The abdication of any and all societal responsibility.

Trump's entire platform is predicated upon the abdication of responsibility in every direction: environmental, economic, health and human welfare. The strip-mining of the future for consumption and profit in the here and now. His entire con job papered over with fiscal smoke and mirrors and misallocated capital. Had prior generations been this rapacious the U.S. would have collapsed decades ago.

Be sure of one thing. The price of the desecration will be measured in carbon units. Hopefully enough to solve the problem(s). No clowns will be laughing when this circus ends.

More rain, snow expected in storm-battered California, following days of mudslides and floods
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/more-rain-snow-expected-storm-194744435.html

Californians were in clean-up mode Friday as the state slowly recovers from an onslaught of rain, wind and snow, which brought widespread flooding, mudslides, and washed-out highways.

At least two deaths have been blamed on the storm.

Over 50,000 homes and business were without power as of midday Friday, poweroutage.us reported.

In Sausalito, north of San Francisco, a home smashed into another house after sliding down a hill. One woman was buried under a tree and mud for two hours before fire crews rescued her.

The National Weather Service reported staggering rainfall amounts across California. A rain gauge at Palomar Observatory, 60 miles northwest of San Diego, picked up over 10 inches of rain Thursday, that location's wettest day ever recorded. [more]

Problem: The Stealth F-35 Lightning II Can't Handle Lightning
    https://www.yahoo.com/news/problem-stealth-f-35-lightning-203100500.html

Combined with the aircraft’s lack of inherent lightning strike protection, it is difficult and complicated to make the fuel system “inert” once the plane is on the ground.

What this means is that there is a distinct potential for a build-up of both oxygen and fuel vapors inside fuel tank that could be dangerous by itself. If a bolt of lightning were to hit a non-inert plane on the ground, there could be an increased risk that it would set off an explosion or cause a fire. [more]

  5. The story of Austin hitting 91F the other day as being the record for earliest hottest temperature is true.....but barely. It is not the hottest every temperature recorded in February though. I remember a February day when it hit 100 and even 101 on may thermometers in 1996. Officially it went down in the record books as 99F. This was on the 21st of February, so a bit later in the month than this past Friday's high of 91.

    http://joedorishweather.blogspot.com/2017/01/whats-hottest-weather-temperature-ever_90.html

I remember that day well in 1996 because I was outside much of that day and couldn't believe that it felt like August. Later I was floored when I found out what the actual temperature was.

Now, this past Friday I was outside on a hiking trail in a park during the early afternoon. My car's thermometer said it was 85F at that time. But I was taken aback at how uncomfortable the air felt. It wasn't a super humid day, but it just felt stifling. Made it hard for me to breathe even. And this was under a thick canopy of trees too. It was the most uncomfortable 85 degrees I had ever experienced. Then of course a few hours later it hit the 90s. I was in the sun during that time and it felt like it was 100.

I guess this is all due to the Maunder Minimum. Right? Bwahahahaha....

  6. Thanks for the "boots on the ground" report, Mike. Humidity usually makes the heat unbearable, but any more with UVC coming in, just being outdoors when it's hot can be lethal.
