"They ate through his rug to fit under his door."

We're told that Conde has sent a memo to their staff in the building telling them that "they cannot eat at their desks" and that a complaint to the city's health department is next on the agenda.

When we bumped into Carter outside the tower, where the publishing house set up shop in November, we asked him if the little beasts are disgusting as we've heard. "They're rats!" laughed the legendary editor, "What do you think?"

The Durst Organization, which manages One World Trade Center for the Port Authority, declined to comment.

Reps for Conde Nast did not respond to requests for comment.

TomAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-48825309432427023902014-12-15T13:20:02.987-06:002014-12-15T13:20:02.987-06:00Yikes, bad way to start the week! (AP) — Police on Monday surrounded a home outside Philadelphia where they believe a suspect had barricaded himself after shootings at multiple homes.

The man was suspected of killing five people Monday morning at three different homes, police told WPVI-TV (http://6abc.cm/1uNlj4A ).

They say the man was suspected of killing a woman in Harleysville, where two bullet holes could be seen next to a second-floor window; two people in Lansdale; and two people in Souderton.

The communities are about four miles from each other in Philadelphia's northwestern suburbs.

Officials are referring questions to the Montgomery County district attorney's office, which did not immediately return messages left by The Associated Press.

Police said they believed the suspect was holed up at the Souderton shooting scene. SWAT teams with armored vehicles and rifles focused on a home on a block of brick-faced houses. [of course I read that as "shit-faced"]

Towamencin Police Chief Tim Dickinson said officers saw movement in the home but were unsure if it was the suspect.
