An elderly gentleman was standing staring, transfixed at the sight of the poor creature. It looked like a fine specimen - other than the fact that it was dead! Heaps just dropped dead out of the trees, due to the heat, as you all probably read here or somewhere else. I have been used to seeing them flying around since I was a little kid but have never seen a dead one on an urban street.
Imagine getting stuck in an undergound railway station for hours, with the system having ground to a halt due to the heat, without air-conditioning, as happened to thousands of commuters here in Sydney in the last few days. I know those stations well and they are often uncomfortably warm even on an average day with everything working.
I did pick up on the shrimp-on-the-barbie line Jonny -that was funny as well. Jimmy Carrie did a good one of those. Funny thing is though we call them prawns.
Cheers Everyone.
All The Best,
Tom N.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4388504906915444063.post-57008420083176844292018-01-09T10:51:08.392-06:002018-01-09T10:51:08.392-06:00Thanks for the link, Mike - I missed the game (asl...Thanks for the link, Mike - I missed the game (asleep by 9).

I recently posted a story along the same lines, only at a swim meet. A "breathing issue" was mentioned - a noticeably vague term like "medical incident" that give one no additional information.

It's only a matter of time before we witness a real collapse death on national t.v., because this "breathing issue" could have been due to a subtle lack of oxygen (ie. more of "other gases") in a single breath taken by someone involved in a sporting event, like it is all over the world for other people doing most anything.

In fact, if JJFH is any indication, it'll probably happen at one of the big car races - the Indy 500 or whatever - since driving is problematic when one passes out. I was watching and I immediately thought, "Could this be.....?" This player, a defensive back, is a freshman who had not played one down when he collapsed at the end of the third quarter. They're calling it a "non-athletic medical issue". He was alert and awake as he rolled off in the stretcher though.
